They should tear down the other side of church street across from 55 West and build another 55 West over there maybe call it 56 West or something
-
In the not to distant future South Street will run both East and West not just West, its going Two-Way baby

Nice photos, i just skipped the last 20 comments b/c i got bored with the arguing, lol, thanks for posting, doctoring, and whatever else might have been done to the pics... I have tons of pics of downtown, night and day pics from all over the city but i havent found the time or the patience to put them on here so kudos to you all for taking time to do so

I totally agree, and i would say that banks are being built to much now, it seems everywhere i go they are putting in a 5th/3rd, fairwinds, amsouth or whatever other banks there are on every corner. At least those arent a health threat.

Piling dirt up on a site before construction is the easiest way to compact the soil a cubic yard of dirt weighs quite a bit depending on the type of soil. They did this in sanford on the north side of SR 46 just after you go past I4 heading to the west. Using compactors does not compact the soil to a great enough depth plus its a cheap way of preping the site. A Geo-engineer or one of his elves will go out and take soil sample borings occasionaly until the soil is compacted enough to begin construction. Geotech 101

i believe the wood is there so they can work on the insides and pull the boards out when it gets to hot b/c there is obviously no air in the units yet.

OMG, i just read the article and it says 12 towers, umm where is the traffic going to go??? I think that is insane. The I-4/436 interchange will never handle this much traffic that is going to be generated along with all the uptown shops. I have seen the plan for fixing the interchange and its not pretty, it involves double-decking 436 over I4 and they told me it wont do much.

I was down here at the site the other night and this project is moving really fast

The Expressway Authority needs to be stopped and people need to actually show up at the meeting they have before the raise the tolls, b/c they are trying to scare everyone with the notion that if they dont raise tolls they wont be able to do the new projects that need to get done such as extending the Apopka Bypass, which in my opinion makes no sense b/c they will be putting a toll plaza on the bypass to pay for it right. Dont they collect money on the 429 to pay for the 429, and so on, you dont collect money on one road to support another road, b/c the purpose is for the road to pay for itself or make money, and if it cant pay for itself or make money then it doesnt need to be built. I dont want to pay another 25 cents at every toll i go through so these toll trolls can waste even more money.

It was 10$ at least that is what the sign outside downstairs said, however there was another sign up in the garage that i saw that said 5$ a day so...im going with 10$ b/c that one was outside downstairs.

When are they razing the old CNL tower, should be fun to watch? -
I went inside the Plaza Parking garage last night and walked around the courtyard, it looks nice the parking garage stairwell has recently had cement poured on every floor for some support beams. It looks as if it was needed for some reason not planned for originally. It doesnt surprise me after being in the tower during construction and talking with a project manager while it was being built. There were many flaws with the construction, when i was in it the connections between the columns and beams were crumbling in some places.

ok so the new CNL tower is going to be built where that Big round dark glass building is on the corner of Anderson and Orange, or are they turning that big round building into the new CNL tower? -
The glass on the West side of the Vue is probably 80% done the East side is slow. I noticed that today driving down Robinson toward the East.

I wonder if it has something to do with wind code??? I was told the windows were to withstand up to 115mph winds, didn't hurricane charlie bring close to or winds that exceeded that especially above ground level. If this is the case one major hurricane from the east and we will be waiting another two years for windows in The Vue.

The toll trolls are taking all the money and distributing it amongst themselves, there is no cut in funds, there funds are what we pay to drive on the stupid roads and there are more cars on them now so its not like people arent driving on toll roads anymore. Eventually we will "Pay to Wait, on not just the 408". I would rather sit in traffic for a little bit then pay the 6 or 7 dollars it cost to drive around Orlando, not to mention the miles you are going out of the way and gas doing it, it all equals out, at least you get to see the city driving through orlando. All these loop toll roads were suppose to originally ease traffic in downtown on i4, haha, they just created more b/c now there are house popping up all along them.

They should be completing roughly one floor every week to week and a half at this point.

Apparently the Marlins have been looking at new cities maybe orlando???? -
I don't know how things have worked there, but i do know when things like this happen in other places they dont make you connect to the system right away, what happens is if you have a problem with your septic tank you then have to connect to the system, b/c they refuse to issue a permit for a new septic system or any type of work to be done on them usually. They then require you to connect and i believe you have to pay the cost of connecting which i have heard can be upwards of 10K which seems high, not sure what is included in this whether removal of septic and new pipes ect. are included.

Orlando Citrus Bowl Stadium [Renovation Completed]

I agree i think a new arena is a good idea, but the whole Citrus bowl renovation is a waste of money, that place is crappy when would they use the glass rooms down the side of the bowl, they cant even fill up the stadium for other events. I still looks exactly the same except for the glass and a bigger score board, looks like someone is pocketing a pretty penny or many pretty pennies. -
Orlando Citrus Bowl Stadium [Renovation Completed]

It looks like residential next to the citrus bowl in that last rendering, hmm... that could be nice, i dont see how they are going to spend that much money on the citrus bowl and it doenst look much different in the renderings though. Hmmm.... they should just tear it down and build one with a dome on it -
You have a good point and i should do more investigating. I think im going to break out the tools and do some. I got a camera a tape recorder and ill go mix and mingle with the residents to find out more information, sounds like i got some work on my hands.
