Fort Valley State University Discussing Hotel/Golf Course Resort Possibility Crumbly, the college vice president of Collaborative Programs is discussing possibility of developing Public/private Partnerships to build a 250 room hotel/ conference center and 18 holes PGA golf course restaurant and other amenities on the university Farm property. The facilities would be part of a new degree programs for golf course management, turf management and hotel management.

I read in the macon Tel(newspaper) about approval for a new sub divison and commerical area at lake tobesofkee. the commerical area will know as town center with 20,000sq ft of light and low impact retail and commerical use professional offices and a restaaurant and another area which will provide additonal 12000 sq ft more commerical space. the sub div. will include 70 town houses and 281 detached single family houses. the project was supposed to include condos but they was deleted from the project...
  5. I agree with that, but all the 2nd tier cities need to work hard to create some attractions to encourage more newcomers into the 2nd tier cities. Like more professional corporate jobs(instead of factories, warehouses & etc.)also modernize develpments which draws in these people because alot of the newcomers are from faster cities like NY, FL cities and others, that why atlanta is always gaining pop., the 2nd tier cities need to catch up(speed up) and stop holding on to history and perservations so to where it's hender them from growth. because it causing them to lose out on so many opportunties...Like having height restriction(cancels High/Mid-rise developments), not wanting to cut down a 100 year old trees(cancels Residential/commerical growth) or demolishing century old un used,condemed building(less space for modernize structures) and etc. If they want growth they are going to have to accomidate....
  6. yes finally some one who agrees with me, that why Macon is falling behind because these citiy officials need to get on the same page and work togther like the do in atlanta. Macon/WR, Peach, Jones, Crawford, and monroe county need to do like altanta and is co -parnters work together to draw in as much development as possible to be sucessfully like other larger cities.
  7. No those high way redevelopments are much need in Macon, the city of macon is really growing and just like atlanta when the cities grows the highways should too in order to support the traffic produced by the growth. yeah i think that macon need to a loop to connect the suburbs.
