Jim Canon's Brew Pub which closed right before Mardi Gras in January will reopen as Hurricane Brewery on Dauphin St. downtown. Good to see the building not remain vacant.

This was in Kathy Jumper's column on development news in Mobile this past sunday.

Due to the federal budget, most new courthouses across the country have been put on hold. I wouldn't expect to see anything done during the current administration.

I hit Dauphin St. this past weekend in Mobile and I must say the night life has never been this big. Dauphin St. is turning into a Beale St. like in Memphis. The atmosphere in downtown is really picking up. The Mobile Register recently ran a special on downtown you can view it here.
