  1. I do too, SuperPope. I don't know if you've seen it in person yet, but pictures honestly don't do it justice.
  2. Well, the circulars are tailored to different markets. I can assure you the circulars in our paper that Parisian puts out in no way resemble the circulars that Belk puts out. More like the difference between Goody's & Macy's if you ask me.
  3. Amen, Andrea - and Ryan too, for posting parts of that article. I am becoming more and more radical concerning politics around here because of the do-nothing-but-pave-over-Georgia mentality of Sonny-Bubba and the whole gang down at the Capitol. I mean, when a little 800,000 metro like Albuquerque can get a commuter rail system off the ground, how do you think that makes us look? It used to just amuse me, but these idiots are now playing with our very future, and it more than sickens me - it's really starting to seriously PISS ME OFF!
  4. Just think, Brad - You'll soon have a front row seat to witness FasTracks taking shape. If only........
  5. Martinman is correct. The State has basically just dropped the ball re: the Multimodal station slated for the gulch. IF & WHEN they finally get off their ass and do the Lovejoy line, all that is planned is a "temporary" station with a couple of covered platforms. I'm afraid not much, if any action will happen unless Mark Taylor wins in November.
  6. Guys, the work around the MWC is pretty basic stuff. They're adding a new employee parking deck, expanding/renovating the conference center, etc.
  7. Wow, was I ever off on the size of Neimans at Millenia. I must have been thinking of Bloomingdale's. I know one of the dept. stores there is very small.
  8. Actually, cbv - the area of the mall that is expanding is the same wing as Neimans. They are adding a 2nd level to tie in with the main concourse of the mall. The Neimans expansion is 54,000 square feet. While that doesn't sound like much, it's actually the total size of the entire store in Orlando! As for now, the Bloomingdale's at Lenox is the 3rd largest in the country - but soon to drop to 4th when the new San Francisco store opens this fall.
  9. southernyank - He took those in November, when the High expansion opened. The crane is down now, and it looks amazing from every angle!
  10. Lets see, on the NE side - the main drag (Highland) through Morningside down into and encompassing Virgina-Highland. IMO, one of our best areas. Emory Village for a couple of blocks. The Buckhead Village area. Little Five Points, Inman Park & Lake Claire. Downtown Decatur, Cabbagetown, Oakhurst, East Atlanta Village, Grant Park and West End. Sections of Midtown, particularly around the edges of Piedmont Park. Some burbs have done a nice job with their downtowns. Roswell, Marietta, Norcross (on the cusp of a BOOM), College Park (on the cusp of a mini-boom), Duluth (still evolving) and Buford (ditto). Watch out for Lawrenceville, and especially Woodstock - it's next. Anybody think of any I've left out?
  11. Urban - I've read the entire proposal, and it is at this point undecided what type of alignment/route that particular section will take. Check it out on the beltline's web site.
  12. No. The old Rich's on the back side of the mall is the "new" Macy's.
  13. ^I've seen figures that claim 40% of the shoppers at Lenox come from over 100 miles away. I talk to people on the train quite often from out of town that are heading out there - last week I struck up a conversation with 4 nurses in town from Halifax, NS. They were all excited about visiting thier first Bloomingdales.
  14. Who knows? They do have Adidas Y3 at Around Lenox and a big Niketown at Phipps.
