Ahh, Sodie's. Service: aweful. Food: aweful. I don't like being so mean, but this was the reason it didn't last. They did try to start a music venue. My band played there. We decided it was one of the worst venues we ever played. The so called sound system was a joke, the set up put a giant poll between us and the audience; plus it's hard to get people off of Dickson Street anyway. I guess I'm just bitter.
Furthermore, the music scene in Fayetteville is lacking by far. It's hard to drum up support for local, original music. I hate to say it, because I love living in Fayetteville. We need some more venues dedicated to local and regional music. We also need some venues in Benton Co. I know there's a few, but I haven't made it out to any of those. It's sad, but Little Rock and, yes, even Fort Smith beat us in supporting local music.
