  1. edit: ha, forgot I already did a reply to this thread. combining posts.
  2. I've traditionally been a SEGA kid, went to the PS2 a year or two ago after new titles for the dreamcast were becoming a thing of the past, and considered the PS3 this time around, until they announced the price and changed that pretty silver design to a typical black one. With the wiimote and all of the innovation Nintendo's been doing lately, it's reminding me of SEGA back in their heyday, so I'm going for the wii this time. You may see me camping out any large empty space in Meijer's gaming section waiting to pounce on the first box to hit a shelf. Problem is I still don't know when it'll come out.. I've seen 3 different release dates so far. News articles have said 15th, website says 19th, and blockbuster has said 17th.
  3. It seems to me more that all the posts have migrated to political discussions. There's been days I check and there's 2 new pages of posts about that.
  4. If all the images can be stitched together, one can probably burn it to a cd and bring it over to that printing place along avenue for the arts near vertigo.. I'm sure they've got some kind of laminate they can apply over a poster-sized sheet of paper. Might be able to plop it onto a usb stick as well.
  5. glad to hear its upside down again. I hope it stays that way.. its always a unique but pleasant sight along 28th, and really catches the eye.
  6. My company would often tell us to mis-spell things intentionally. It was their idea that things spelled wrong will get people's attention, and get them to see the sign. I've always begged to differ. They'd obviously have to see the sign before ever seeing the mistake.. the only thing it would do is cause them to remember it better and think we're complete fools who probably can't even make their food properly. In fact outside the store I work at, our own store name is spelled wrong on a small sign hanging off the covered sidewalk. It shows us as being "Little Ceasars", and has been that way since the store's creation over 15 years ago.
  7. Cool, chances are I'll be able to get out of work by 5 on that day. Whereabouts is Graydon's?
  8. I was about to say the windows on the first looked a lot like the wall for the helen devos in earlier renderings.
  9. I like the 1st and last one there. The other 2 seem average.
  10. That's something I'd love to get in on. I usually work nights on both those days, should I call and request to open (10-7 rather than 4-midnight) if at all possible, or would I likely still be unable to make any of the times you're thinking of?
  11. a 28th rennovation would be nice, although I would love to see that curved roof portion preserved. It's rather unique.
  12. A Final reminder of my show on Friday the 13th. Also, DJ Icey will be coming to the area early November at the Orbit Room. The fliers for that are literally everywhere.
  13. Wasn't really referring to all of them, just a couple of them come across as more mansiony than on heritage hill (at least the ones i've seen), but still not enough to be mcmansions. I guess what I was more trying to say was they're all set back from the road a little more and just seem to be built on a grander scale.
  14. There's a few really nice homes along Jefferson between Alger and Burton. Granted, they're a little more mcmansiony than those on heritage hill, but that little strip still has a really nice character. One of these days I think I'll snap some photos of a few of those houses.
  15. Chris Knape talked about it in his blog. I went there for the first time for a gyro because the dog pit was closed. First time I ever had a gyro and damn it was good! I was gonna grab another saturday whilst putting up fliers for my event on friday, and notised they were closed. =[ I hope that space gets filled with something else soon, I'd hate to see a new vacant spot along monroe center.
  16. I notised it approaching the past week, but yes it really made a jump over last night.
  17. That's a pretty nifty idea there, and makes sense too.
  18. I'll agree with that, although it would look nice if it had 2 more floors, but that's asking a lot more than should be expected =p
  19. Only changes I see is that they finally covered the two holes by four friends with plastic sheets and put up that plastic Grubb & Ellis banner. I saw the truck coming to the place a few days ago, thought they'd be putting up a sign using those holes, but to my disappointment it was only that banner. They also drove by twice before finding the place, and when they arrived they sat around for about an hour. At least that's what it appeared to be to me.
  20. I really don't see why. It's not really much of a fascinating building.
  21. I wasn't suggesting to axe the glass altogether, only the fact that the glass was red there. Uncoloured glass would probably do just fine there.
  22. I'm not sure about the red near the heart of the plaza. Reflecting red into red goes against the entire artistic theme of the plaza. The red facing Monroe is a great idea though.
  23. I think something like the first would be really cool there. Imagine all the unique reflections of the sculpture one could get!
  24. haven't missed it one year since I originally heard about it ;D
