  1. MOB = Medical Office Building POB = Professional Office Building
  2. who knows, maybe they'll put up a parking structure and pedestrian overpass to a building in Midtowne Village. they could lease some spaces to that MOB going in just to the west
  3. I'm guessing they'll make a decision on the site before the elections next week. The incumbent trustees want to get re-elected. Big decisions and announcements are good for them. Its the same reason they fired John L. Smith when they did. loose lips sink ships
  4. some photos from Saturday afternoon... it was really windy, check out the leaves...
  5. some of those ficticious bonus points to the first person to tell me where this is without looking at my flickr stream...
  6. City Hall... Calder Plaza... Tannery Row & Richmond Stamp... Inside 70 Ionia...
  7. Here is what the Health Drive side of the MOB we did looks like. The building is the top left one of that cluster, the photo is looking to the west.
  8. Check out 3 of the 4 buildings on the left side of that cluster... the entry canopies face the parking lots and not Health Drive
  9. the rendering I did of the Professional Office Building that Granger gave to WOOD is about 4 versions old, and then WOOD somehow got the newest one but proceeded to shrink and distort it and use it as the graphic for the story... nice job by a bunch of communications proffesionals
  10. I think if they located the school at Mid Towne Village or near St. Mary's it would only seem logical that there would be some sort of a shuttle service to and from the Spectrum/VAI
  11. It's been done before. Steven Ehrlich, an architect from California who lectured here in town last Spring, did something similar on a bio-tech lab building he designed in Cambridge, MA. Check out the stone facade...
  12. I'm guessing that your "matrix squares" are probably DNA prints... ...and they'll probably be printed or ceramic fritted onto the glass. oh, they can also do it "matrix" style too...
  13. These showed up in my inbox the other day... the extremely forced perspective is lame, in my opinion
  14. coupl thoughts... I've already given my "Calatrava-esque" rant, look back in this thread a ways, its still stands. There's no substance to the building other than the needle and threads, and even that is questionable. Calling it a "spire" is being generous. The wave motif is played out in this town. Subtle references are fine, take the VAI and JW Marriott for example, but this project and Devos Place and especially the GR Press building out in Walker are ridiculous.
  15. They already have three hotels. Amway Grand, Courtyard by Marriott at Plaza Towers, and the JW.
  16. Looks to me like they rolled a giant joint, but since this a hospital we lets just hope its for "medicinal" purposes. Do children children ever suffer from glaucoma?
  17. I'm glad someone got the reference, even if it did take some research, and didn't think I wasn't ripping on tamias. It was actually somewhat of a complement because I kinda like J P-R's work. In fact, I've been wearing a lot more collar-less shirts to work with dress slacks so that I look like him. Now I just need to shave my head and start lifting weights to get that Ivy League Rower appearance. And I totally agree with both points GRdad... he's definitely making a statement, and something crazy like Museum Plaza or Seattle Public in any urban environment would be cool as long as it didn't become the norm. Alex, Museum Plaza was also an "eyesore of the Month". Kunstler called San Francisco's deYoung Museum an eyesore as well. He can be an idiot some of the time.
  18. feeling "hyper-rational" tamias? did you get your Joshua Prince-Ramus fix? interesting take but the colors are a bit silly.
  19. We (BETA) just finished CDs for a Professional Office Building that will be connected to the main hospital building. Construction should be underway soon, if it isn't already. I was in the office all day today (I guess I should say yesterday since its now passd midnight) working on a rendering of the lobby for Gary Granger. I'll post it as son as possible. Also, our project manager for our Metro projects took some construction pictures of the MOB on Friday morning. i'll try to get them posted tommorrow too.
