Many of the News links posted here require free registration in order to gain access to the article. UrbanPlanet recommends BugMeNot if you don't want to go through this step. There is even a FireFox plugin (you are using FireFox we hope) for BugMeNot.

I maintain a premium news service that is subscription oriented, and the higher-ups HATE bugmenot -- so much so that they check it daily for added accounts and terminate the account of the person who's info has been added.

It works for free stuff though.

I have tried this a few times on paying sites, and as you said, it never works there.

However, I most frequently used for local newspaper sites that want you to register to view their articles. No charges are involved- but its a nuisance to have to sign up for one article. I sign up for my regular papers.
