Pinnacle Place Development Partners LLC closed on more than 6 acres of land near Tampa's Channelside District from three different land owners for about $14.5 million.

The firm will build two 40-story mixed-use condo towers with about 170 condos in each on the land. The condos' price tags will start in the mid-$300s and go up to more than $2 million for the penthouses. The project also will include three floors of low-rise units and about 100,000 square feet of retail space.

Tampa-based Pinnacle Place Development has hired Morris Architects of Orlando to oversee the architectural design and site planning, with Skanska as construction manager. The Toni Everett Co. will handle marketing and sales for the project.

The firm plans to break ground on the first tower and the retail phase in February.
