A land deal announced Thursday clears the way for completion of a third Metro-North station in Fairfield, according to the governor's office. The station is scheduled to open in the summer of 2011.

Under the new agreement negotiated with the town and Blackrock, the realty company will turn over the land to the state and will receive revenues from a 1,200-space parking lot, the governor's office said in a written statement Thursday.
