I still think they could renovate one of the buildings at the prison complex (central to the state) with direct access to 95 and 295 for less than $27m. Then they could use the remainder of the money to renovate another building to replace the Welcome Arnold Homeless shelter that they tore down two years ago when they were going to build this project in Cranston.

I thought that this project was going to be built in Cranston which is, as you said, centrally located. But I seem to remember something about a protest from a golf course owner whose land was adjacent to the proposed Cranston site. So with this project now being built in North Scituate, does this mean that the baracks located around the state won't be closed? And I disagree with you about the state not renovating an old building in the Howard complex for a headquarters. The whole purpose of building new is to provide the state police with a building able to provide them and support state of the art technologies. The original plan was to have a new headquarters in Cranston where all state police operations would work out of and report for duty, and the closing of the remaining baracks throughout the state.

This is just silly. Why would they put something that should be centrally located in the middle of nowhere? It's the freaking state! Why should a grumpy Mulligan's Island owner stop them from doing something worthwhile. Doesn't it make more sense to have them near the traffic court and the prison?
