Local Planning/Development Firms

Hey everyone,

I'm in the middle of my first year in a City Planning masters program and I'm looking for an internship for next summer.

I'm sending out resumes to as many places as I can think of, given the economy. I think I've got a pretty good handle on the various property developers and the public sector, but I can't find very many private sector planning firms. Does anybody know any companies, large or small, that work on planning-related issues and might need some help next summer? My program is pretty broad-based, although my concentration is in transportation.

Thanks a lot for any information.

Back when I was in a college planning program (before GIS and teh interwebs were invented), it was possible to do research using local phone directories, company directories, and the like. This involved a trip to the library.

One of my grad school programs regularly posts lists of internships. (Alumns working in the field stay conected, and send their lists to the prof who compiles the website.)
