After years of planning and negotiating, a new 45-story Four Seasons Hotel & Residences is coming to downtown Denver -- and it's being hailed as a five-star boost to the city's reputation.

Completion is scheduled for fall or winter of 2009.

I think there had been a previous rendering (50-story version). Perhaps that is the one you had seen?

This project, like the Spire, went through some financing issues and re-design, from what I've read.

The original design had more of an empire state building-like quality to it. Don't get me wrong, this is still something to be very excited about... but the original drawings were better.

I rode past this building on Friday and the exterior looks pretty dull. Hopefully, the unique top and sheer height of the building can distract from the boring beige paneling when finished. Right now it is almost to the part with the balconies on the rendering so it isn't even halfway to its final height.
