Snow Events of Winter '08

This morning at around 3:30 AM I was up finishing a receipt and contract for a client of mine and was anxious to see the first flake of snow fall. As most of you know, the last 'all snow' event we got was a couple of years ago (not counting the one hour snowfall last year). By the time I woke up, the snow had stopped and it had transitioned to a freezing / light rain that made most of the little snow we got freeze over. The total amount of precipitation we got was around half an inch. I went downtown late this afternoon to get some photos of what little snow we had left. Hope you enjoy!

Wow, all the news stations in the Triad really got it wrong today! There is 3 inches of snow on the streets outside my home in Burlington. There isn't a salt truck in site. They also finally said this was a minor snow event and would end within 30 minutes at 9:30P the time is now 10:23P and its still snowing heavily. :dontknow:

Here is a link to some pictures I took tonight.

Thank you guys!

This is the most snow we've gotten since about Winter '04. Many area school systems were out for a week due to the double hit we got by the same system. The region was paralyzed by a thick sheet of ice under about 6 inches of wet snow. The local media made a bigger deal out of last month's measly 1.5 inches than this storm.
