^It seems as though the base of the building, from which the narrow elevator shaft emerges, is a plane modernist box, very low rise. I don't see why this base can't fully occupy the street-level space around it. This appears to be a novel take on the issue of mitigating the imposing mass of tower, instead of the tiered set- back, we get a narrow, shaft rising out of a low base and then the tower portions hovering in the air. The dead space below the towers, is occupied by the roof of the base. Supposing the roof could be used as a terrace or something, shaded areas are a welcome respite in southeast asia, I'm sure.
