Thought I'd post a few pics of the future site of the Mill at West End.

It appears that this project is now dead according to the NW Arkansas Business Journal. They have stopped the project due to the bad market and I don't know if they will start again if and when the market improves.

Well that's disappointing, another development on hold. Especially because I was hoping to see more happen in the Mill District. Did they ever even break ground at the site? I noticed the pics look a bit old because everything is green.

I have not been by there since I heard they were not doing it but for some reason I thought that they had done some sort of ground breaking.

They might have had a ceremonial groundbreaking but besides tearing down the old mill nothing has been done. It's a not a pretty sight at all- I hope something more is done to clean it up.

The condo project just north of Walgreens is coming along. They have erected one building and the slab is finished for the other. I think the second building will be a multistory like the Mill was supposed to be. That might have figured into the decsion not to do the Mill- too much of the same type product in the area.

Those are the Sycamore Lofts. They should be move-in ready by April. They'll be a mix of true loft-style condos ($125,000 for 636 sq. ft and $206,000 for 1050 sq. ft) and two-bedrooms ($226,000 for 1150 sq. ft). They're supposed to be quite nice, with modern finishes.

Personally, I really like lofts. They appeal to my city-girl side, I suppose.

Thanks for the info! That is a more reasonable price range than the Dickson Street area and still close to downtown. I've never lived in a loft but I like the concept- I imagine it seems like you have a lot more room than a standard layout of the same square footage.

I think the downside for the Sycamore Lofts is the lack of walkability to the U of A and Dickson. Of course, that's the same reason why the prices are more reasonable. I'm curious to see how quickly they sell.
