Valley facing record growth in near future

Black Mountain appears to be on a building boom. Besides several new residential communities going up, Montreat College is looking at land to build a new downtown campus. It is interesting how a town can continue to grow while maintaining its great views.

Unless you consider a view of huge mountainside subdivisions a great view, Black Mountain won't be growing while preserving its great views. Maybe in fifty years when the spindly little saplings the developer plants mature, but certainly not until then. Until then, it's a great view of chockablock McMansions.

I am sure Black Mountain wants to grow while maintaining its great views. A logical idea I would like to see is some sort of verticle expansion with some midrises in the central business district.
