New office tower planned for Bellevue

The Eastside's largest office landlord on Thursday announced plans to begin construction next summer of a 26-story office tower that would become its ninth in downtown Bellevue.

The new 559,000-square-foot City Center Plaza tower should be ready for occupancy by March 2008, said Patrick Callahan, a senior vice president with Chicago-based Equity Office Properties, the building's owner and developer.

It was originally going to be 34 stories back during the tech boom but has been scaled back it seems.
