The owner/CEO of Wild Advetures is looking at Macon, as well as a few other sites in the south, as a possible new location for a large water park. WHAT!!!! This is major news for our area. What a shot in the arm this would be for our tourism industry if something like this goes through. Read the article frome the Macon Telegraph.

Macon Area Eyed 4 Water/Theme Park

A new theme park would certainly mean big tourism dollars for the city...even if the southside of town isn't the best place to put it. On a good note, it does take some attention off the Lullwater/Bass Rd. area, which seems to be getting all the development these days.

An expensive bridge/interchange that both potential developers say is absolutely needed for interstate acess to the park is the hold up right now. Bibb county doesnt have the money to pay for it, and want to form some type of pulic/private partnership to fund it. Thoughts anyone?

I reall y hope that bibb county comes up with the funds to build the access road from the interstate before the developer from the park decides to go another city, because i think if macon/bibb county can grab this opportunity it can really increase the boom of development in macon and help it become a much larger city and attract more tourists to the area. in addition given the people in this area more do instead of als ways going to ATL or Valdosta. Macon/bibb county should see how valdosta has benifit form wild adventure this should encourgar them to really want to help aid the developer as much as possible.
