I happened to run across this on EBay today. Exactly how low are people going to stoop? The destruction of the Ambassador is needless and tragic. This is just revolting....

This kind of thing is pretty common for famous places being destroyed.

It reminds me of the that scene in "Taxi Driver": "one person, two people, three people"

I still don't think they needed to destroy nearly all of the Ambassador. A school can be built almost anywhere. Eliminating history in favor of an expedient, cheap building is not the way to go. They say that they went out of their way to save fragments of the Ambassador... Even total reconstruction would not have been onerously expensive. The Ambassador was essentially a simple building. What, if anything, is left of the Cocoanut Grove?
