Fith Third to be Sold?

I've had 5/3rd for a few years and I've never had a bad experience. Ever.

I have, I don't bank with them, but my company has, and it was such a hassle to get anything done, I had them switch their accounts to National City.

I know someone whose the highest ranking person perm. stationed in Grand Rapids i.e VP. He said it is all rumors!

I've had a few mixups but nothing too bad. I have checking, savings and business accounts with 5/3. I wonder who will take this over and if they will be any good? Maybe I should scrap it all and go to a credit union.

I had heard Wachovia is interested but I don't know how interested they are.

Something tells me that Wells Fargo is the front runner (did I read that?). I left Fifth Third when they wanted to charge me $1.00 for not bringing in my OWN deposit slip. I was informed it was a charge to cover mistakes made by THEIR clerks when manually entering "Make that a withdrawal slip for my entire balance please"
