MPLS: The Carlyle

I can't wait to see what the skyline looks like with the carlyle, the niccollet and all the other high rises completed.

The latest pics on emporis are from december and show the construction around 12-16 floors.

Here's a low-resolution photoshop composite of The Carlyle and The Nicollet. It's grainy, but the heights are pretty spot on. From this vantage point, neither one contributes a whole hell of a lot, but along with Eitel, they will greatly expand the north-south axis of the skyline.

It sounds like the Carlyle will surpass St Paul's Jackson Tower (part of Galtier Plaza) as the tallest residential structure in Minnesota.

Friend of mine (mentioned in the Nicollet thread) and her husband bought a unit on the 15th floor in the Carlisle. After doing interior selections last week, they went from $419K up to $475 !! Didn't think about that $29,000 parking spot either

The industry average for upgrades is somewhere between 10 and 20%...so they were right on target

The addtion of an extra outlet for phone or cable generally rund $125. Add hardwood floors for $6,000 and a fireplace for another $6,000 and it is easy to see how quickly it can add up.
