Cities attracting the most young professionals

This list seems wrong.  How is Charlotte not on it?  I also don’t see how Miami is on it.  It’s a really beautiful place, but I don’t think that any Fortune 500 companies are even based there.

As per CNBC:

Here are the top 15 cities where today's college grads are applying for jobs most:

  1. New York
  2. Chicago
  3. Dallas
  4. Los Angeles
  5. Atlanta
  6. Boston
  7. San Francisco
  8. Austin, Texas
  9. Washington D.C.
  10. Houston
  11. Seattle
  12. Denver
  13. Philadelphia
  14. San Diego
  15. Miami

Most of those cities are still significantly larger than Charlotte. It is pretty much a list of the 15 largest metros in the US with the exceptions of Austin, Denver, and San Diego who besides Austin are still bigger than Charlotte.

I'd be more interested in a list of per capita hires of young professionals coming out of college. Cities like Chicago and Dallas can add thousands and barely dent their metro populations. Charlotte may actually be nabbing these professionals at an impressively high rate for its size. I bet the Triangle is too.
