Hurricane Sandy....the real October Surprise?

Hurricane Sandy appears to be causing some serious problems for the mid-atlantic and northeast. If there is wide spread damage with trees falling over roads and massive power outages that could potentially last over a week, what does this mean for election day? States reserve the right to post pone presidential elections in the event of an emergency and there is already talks of this possibility in some states. Politically this weather event could benefit Romney or Obama depending on what happens. If the election goes on as planned, it could benefit Romney. But if some states post-pone it, Obama could benefit. The hurricane is through both campaigns off message and Romney really can't do much at all. Jumping into this natural disaster could make Romney look like he is being political which is something that hurt Romney when he jumped into the Lybia embassy situation. Meanwhile Obama is being presidential with television images of Obama instead of Romney.
