The Westin Portland Hotel & Residences

The Procaccianti Group is proud to announce its development of The Westin Portland Hotel & Residences.

Located one block from the bay and walking distance to the newly constructed cruise ship passenger docking center, The Westin Portland Hotel & Residences has a commanding view of the waters of Portland, Maine.

The Company plans to construct a 200 room full service Westin, complete with function space and restaurants, as well as 100 residential condominium homes, structured parking and street level retail space.

Located in immediate proximity to the Downtown Portland Financial Center, The Westin Portland Hotel & Residences will have panoramic views of the waterfront.

Significant architectural features include sweeping facades, a multi-level glass atrium and storefront retail space, offering amenities to shoppers, visitors, guest and patrons.

The retail level will be home to a major white-table-cloth restaurant and other upscale retailers.

The residential condominiums will have a mix of available floor plans, with no more than XXX condominium homes on each level. Homes will range in size from 980 square feet to over 2,300 square feet. Owners will be able to combine adjacent spaces to create larger plans, and to combine stacked units for a townhouse plan. Each condominium home if fully applianced and feature hardwood flooring, granite and marble floors in key rooms, ceiling heights in excess of nine feet, and European balconies. Private interior structured parking exclusive to the residences is also featured.

All condominium homes will have access to all Hotel services, including room service, housekeeping, event planning and more. A secured entrance with a 24-hour concierge is planned.

Construction is scheduled to commence mid-summer, 2005 and be completed by early 2008.

^Thanks for finding that Mr. C! The whole cruise ship terminal area is really coming together.

The Procaccianti Group is based in Cranston, RI and they are doing a number of large projects in Providence right now. They just relaunched their website and that Portland project was on it.

I really have to get up to Portland soon, it's been too long since I've been there.

I just read in the Saturday, June 11 edition of the Portland Press Herald that the PME 1 Limited Partnership is looking into increasing the projects height from 65 ft. to 95 ft. for the hotel and 85 ft. for the condo's. They are scheduled to go to the Portland planning board on Tuesday, June 14th to be reviewed. Hopefully they succeed...!

On another note there is a new website out regarding the Waterview condos. It is www.waterviewatbayside.com. From what I've seen it will be a great addition to the city's skyline.
