  1. Yea vdogg I do live at the Hague. I'll up grade my photo bucket account so I can post larger pictures. From this vantage point, you can even see the Westin at TC. I'll post some more photos this evening.
  2. Thanks fellows for the many great posts. I'll keep this one updated as construction continues. http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o10/Tho...k_panoramic.jpg
  3. I noticed Toyota is the first partner to advertise ODU football. Could this be a harbinger for Toyota's announcement of a new plant?
  4. Norfolk is going to have a pretty imposing skyline in the next couple of years. The wide angle lense doesn't do it justice.
  5. Walmart is going to eventually succumb to the market pressures of demand. With more people moving back to urban areas, there is going to be some kind of demand for Walmart. Maybe on a smaller scale, but Walmart is going to adjust it's business model in some fassion or form in order to meet market demand in urban areas. Your right, Walmarts business model as of now would not be profitable within dense areas. But, as crazy as it sounds, Walmart is running out of rural areas for expansion. So, a Walmart in downtown Norfolk is not too far fetched.
  6. Downtown needs an urban Target, and a Circuit City. Maybe in the old downtown plaza. To h$ll with a Walmart. A Walmart would look nice at VB TC.
  7. Norfolk Southern's David Goode Speech David Goode spoke at the Hampton Roads Economic Club Luncheon last Thursday. Here's a link to his speech. His main point is that the cities of Hampton Roads need to work together as a region instead of competing cities. He used Norfolk's purchase of NS's rail lines as an example of Norfolk working alone to solve a regional transportation problem. He made a point that Hampton Road's congestion is a regional problem and needs to be addressed regionally instead of each city contributing seperately. Maybe he's just trying to sell more rail lines to other cities, but he's got a point.
