  1. Here's a nice article about the Saturday Market. Yesterday's market had a holiday theme and drew many patrons despited the cold weather.

  3. I was kinda thinking that this may be a bit too many hotels. BUT having all of these hotels may actually attract more conventions and with the the amount of retail coming maybe many people will make Augusta an overnight stop when they are traveling.
  4. High end hotels and a new convention center are coming to Augusta. Here's the article. That part of West Augusta is seeing a lot of growth with several hotels, the Village at Riverwatch and the condo deveolopment that may come to National Hills and that is all in like a 5 mile or less radius. That area and Downtown are going to be areas to watch in the near future.

  9. Funsville is ready to expand to a full fledged family entertainment center. Here's the article.
  10. It may be ADP but I'm not sure because that looks far too long to be ADP. They just announced them coming a few weeks ago. Plus they are supposed to be renting office space when they first open in Augusta. Socaguy..ADP is the company that's expanding into Augusta and bringing 1000 jobs.
  11. Me neither. I don't recall hearing about anything being built on Steves Creek. Maybe it's an office building I would think.

    Plans for Aiken County's complex move forward. The council voted to give the greenlight to a company to begin planning for their new government complex. This move would put all of the county agencies under one roof.

  14. The Augusta Regional Airport is set to begin marketing the site for economic development. Here's the article.
  15. Columbia Co. will start looking at the idea of building an entertainment arena again as well as other projects. Here's the article. I personally would rather see a sports and entertainment arena go to downtown Augusta. I know the issue has been discussed on the Augusta commission as well but I guess it will be a first come first served type thing because I don't think the area would need more than two arenas.
  16. In Columbia County the residents are campaignin for node overlay districts which are districts where commercial buildings follow a particular architechtural pattern. Here's an aritcle explaining the details (its near the middle of the page). the article I think this would be wonderful idea in certain parts of town. What does everyone think?

    The Palmetto Parkway project has been scaled back a little. Work is set to begin in the spring with a completion date of 2010. Details
  22. The new Fat Man's Cafe is now open inside of Ft. Discovery. However the Mocha Delites coffe house downtown has closed.
  23. The Kroger on Washington Rd. in West Augusta (across from Books- A Million) is turnig into a Kroger Supercenter.
