^^ Where did you find this? Is this going before a public board soon?
It is coming before the Greenville County Zoning Board in December. A lot about to happen along the Swamp Rabbit in this area. Another piece of property next to this over 253 is under contract as well. Also the Poe Mill redevelopment and the mill next to it.

Lots of brand new survey stakes up at the site bounded by West Washington Street, Forest Street, and Shirley Street directly across from Amtrak/Norfolk Southern.
Same story for junk yard site next to Greater Greenville Sanitation across West Washington Street from Legacy Charter Elementary School.
That junkyard getting cleared out at the moment.

I've heard the biggest issue for all restaurants right now is good staff. A whole chunk has just left the restaurant workforce pool based on the pandemic and won't becoming back. I know one downtown restaurant can't increase seating capacity because of staff shortages.

They are clearing the section of the trail in front of the Poe Mill right now that will link to this. Great to see the trail extending and it being a spur to development

If this was to be downtown would it not by on the City of Greenville meeting rather than Greenville County?
-
Are they not just enlarging the Anderson/Greenville Industrial Business Park for a new project within there. Maybe Wyche is representing the client.

Why build empty office buildings? The world of the office has completely changed. Why would a company now pay premium for Class A downtown office space when employees can be more productive working form home, and these companies can save money for bricks and mortar rent. The next focus is now going to be how can these offices spaces be repurposed so they can be leased out.

They've already started getting the repairs ready to get going on the trail. Walked the section from Washington St (Where the orange line goes to Hampton Station) in towards downtown. They have the sections of trail marked for replacing the asphalt, adding shoulders, I think retaining walls as well where some banks were slipping. It's definitely major improvements, not just sealing cracks in the asphalt.

I just drove up through North Carolina, Tennessee and Kentucky for a project meeting. Anywhere I stopped in Tennessee or Kentucky had a sign outside the door saying you must wear a face mask to enter. Everybody was. This included any big gas stations off the interstate. Then I pulled into a QT in Greenville off 385 and noticed no sign out front and inside majority of people weren't wearing masks.
This mask ordinances work.

That's incredible

scdhec.gov
for daily new infections and deaths in South Carolina. Broken out by county
amount of people tested
percent infected of those tested
doesn't have the hospitalization rate anymore as that reporting was removed form CDC
-
Patients on Ventilators in South Carolina went from 214 yesterday to 567 people today.
-
SC the 3rd ranked in the WORLD for most new cases of Covid-19 per million people in the last 7 days. SCDHEC reported 21% infection rate of those tested yesterday. 1 in 5.
-
The most worrying statistic is the percent infected. We hit 20.1% infected of those tested yesterday. 1 in 5 people. WEAR A MASK IF YOU HEAD OUT!!!

Darn just what Cherrydale needs is another bank. Already has a First Citizens and Wells Fargo with BOA across the street. Was hoping for something like a Chipotle or Tropical Grille at CD.
Would be nice to get some more offerings like that over this side of town. Another bank is very underwhelming.

I drove down main st Greenville yesterday from the Hyatt through the Westend. Was curious to see how many were wearing masks. I'd probably guess 5% of the people I saw were were wearing them. No wonder Greenville is also the hotspot in SC. SC average new cases a day two weeks ago was 402 per day. This week we are averaging 940 new cases per day. "Well we are testing more" Sure but the infected rate of those being tested is 16%. That is 1 in 6 of those tested has it. Wear a mask, it stops the spread.

Why even bother with those hip roofs?

This has been definitely a case where the building in the flesh is much better than the rendering. It's very impressive.

SCDHEC.org has all the daily figures. Number of tests, number of infected. The worrying number is the percent infected. Its 14% and rising. And Greenville County is the hotspot in SC.
NZ is back to no restrictions. They had rugby back on this weekend with full stadiums. NZ enacted stay at home very quickly and are seeing the success of that now. Next phase will be opening up travel between NZ and Australia. At this rate in the US other areas of the world will open back up and they will not allow travel to anyone from the US.
New Statues downtown...?
