  1. When I was there all I remember finding were sea shells. Although you can find that anywhere near the water if you dig down deep enough, this seemed to have an over abundance of them. Maybe if there was some serious funding for a dig by archeologists they may have uncovered something more significant. Too late now. :ermm:

  2. It's sad to see these comunities starting to disapear. Homophobia is just as prevalent today as it has ever been, people just are not as open about as they used to be. I have noticed in the past 5 years this trend and I don't think its a positive. I see it as a problem whenever you lose your cultural identity and soon there won't be anywhere to go to just be around people like yourself.

  3. ^^^^ That reminds me about 3-4 years ago I was traveling up to State College the night before the Penn State game at about midnight. Just past the Maryland border all traffic was diverted off the interstate for about 20 miles before you could get back on. The thing that got my attention was the number of military vehicles that were involved with traffic control. They didn't just detour us just off the highway, we detoured atleast 5-6 miles away. It took about three hours to complete. I asked one of the state troopers what was happening and he said he was told there was an overturned military vehicle. My hotel room for that night was just after we were allowed back on the main road. I watched the local news the next morning and not a word about it and I never heard anything after that. Another thing is the military vehicles were blocking all other roads on the detour except the ones heading the away from the highway. I have often wondered what the real story was. Maybe it was a downed secret aircraft or maybe a downed UFO??? Who knows, but it seemed pretty odd to me that it was never reported on the news. You don't just shut down that much interstate without it being on the news.

What do you guys think? A non-story or something more sinister?

  4. I don't understand how all this is working. The housing market in Austin has yet to fall like the rest of the country. We already have two condo high rises one over 40 floors nearly topped out and another over 30 topped out. Two more one over 40 and over 50 floors broke ground the past few months. They are having no problem selling either.

My condo would sell for about 50,000 more now than last year. Maybe it's all just evening out as I can see home prices here and in HR come closer together. Houston home prices are still very low. You can buy a 2,000 sq ft all brick home for 200,000. The market in Austin will level off in the next few years as demand is filled, but hopefully the rest of the nation will level back off to normal levels by then.

  5. Well, the idea of Dubya being an alien presents a quandry for me. If extra terrestrial life forms are more advanced than us, him being from another world is truly unbeliveable. Then again, I kinda like the idea he's not human. Would explain lots.
It's just an act, remember this is the same man (alien) who master minded the 9-11 attacks! It's all a part of the plan.

You don't think that tsunami just happened? No, the mother ship that is stationed under water in the Devils Triangle came up close to the shore and thrust its engines to cause it. This is also part of the plan as Bush sr. and Clinton rallied the world for money which most of it went to finance their cause, not to the victims. After Hillary's first term is over this will all be revealed.

  6. Conspiracy theories are great for fictional books and movies but that's all they are worth. All it takes is a few un-answered questions and lots of speculation with few facts to back it up. Maybe both Bush's and Clinton's are really extraterestrials and are going to rule the world together after their 24 year plan is complete. Why else would they all seem to be such good friends? Ron Brown, Vince Foster and Barbara Olsen found out about their plans and were taken out. I think this explains a lot, it's all becoming clear to me now!

  7. In the current credit climate, I wouldn't put much stock in it. Such a building would have to be uber mixed use. perhaps if we're thinking in a 5-10 year time frame, but not now. I've heard the same rumor, but I just don't think it's credible. Of course I would love to be proved wrong.

Being around many construction sites when you hear rumors like this it usually takes a year or two before the ball starts rolling. Construction prices are going down, we have one major company in AH's head quarters and one major hotel with the Westin. This could be gaining a lot of attention from around the country by developers.

  8. Well a couple of questions:

    1) Who is planning it?

    2) Where would it be?

    3) How reliable is your friend?

    4) How reliable is their source?

I didn't dig too deep into questioning him as it was a rumor going around the job site. What ever it is I'm sure it's in the preliminary stages. This might be for block 11 which would put it way down the road. Block 11 has 1,200,000 sf posted on the above website, so something large is being considered, that's why I brought this up. You can never trust a rumor too much from a construction site. I'm guessing it won't be 60 stories but could mean something big is coming. It wouldn't surprise me if true considering the success of Town Center.

  9. My mother lives right down the street from there. They have cleared out a lot of old buildings and land along Airline blvd to build on. It's a welcome site to the people who live in that area as its been pretty run down for the last 20 years. Anyone remember the old drive-in movie screen that used to be over there? It would be nice to bring something like that back instead of you typical 20-30 screen theatre. I doubt it would be economically feasable today though.

  10. Thanks Ive seen how the debunkers have tried to make it look like Oswald was the lone gunman by trying to account for everything. There are alot of holes in their arguments. This assasination was well planned and well though out. Im sure it was figured out how to debunk the conspiracy theories long before Kennedy died that day. Mainly I think we need to understand that our government has done some nasty things and we need to get the notion out of our heads that our government could never do that.

Well maybe you can write a book and fill in the holes to educate all of us. The problem with conspiracy theories is they don't have proof to back up their claims, that's why they are theories. To create a conspiracy theory you find questions that haven't been adequately explained at the time and make up your own answers even though it can't be proven. Then you ask for facts to disprove your answers. It's a slick game played by people that want to make money off of an event. This is what the makers of "Loose Change" did. Over time their theories have been debunked and they have had to back off many of their claims. Then they go back to work to find some more unanswered questions and fill in the blank without any proof. It's a crazy cycle that never goes anywhere but to anger people who want to believe the worst about our government and the people in it. No amount of evidence to the contrary will satisfy the theorists.

  11. That's the sun shining off the front passangers head, look again. The force of the shot going through the back of the head pushed it foreward, then his head recoiled back from the force of the shot going out the other side of the head. Just think about how a jet engine works. You have a lot of force coming into the front, then as it goes through the engine and out the other side it propels it foreward.

  12. You can't see anything in that video other than the two in the front seat turn their heads around. This conspiracy has been debunked in so many ways that it's now laughable to think it's anything other than what it is. Usually the simplist answers are the correct ones. Let it go.
