  1. It connects with Metro at Union Station, along with MARC and Amtrak.
  2. I feel the same way... It would've been cool if Stony Point was "put downtown" per se. But, I feel that Manchester would probably be the best place to put any type of development that you talk about. There's lots of potential in that area that's yet to be realized and there is a lot of space available that still could be developed.
  3. Man, I wish I didn't know about this. It's making me itch to know more now LOL.
  4. Here's another article on Wilder's support of the CT So true: "Wilder scoffed at the notion that the Convention Center and the Performing Arts Center would develop Downtown Richmond by themselves, as some had previously suggested. 'It doesn't work that way," he said. "You have to have the incremental approaches.'" Convention Center is soooo dead. I hope it pays off someday. Gotta laugh just a little... "We have seen a city transform from a transient city to a destination city," ... the article states Staats as saying. I wouldn't go as far as calling it a destination city just yet, just getting there..
  5. It should come back strong! On Yahoo News, Richmond was mentioned alongside SAN FRANCISCO and ATLANTA for having STRONG housing activity :-). It's nice to have some national recognition sometimes. Heh. Link: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20050727/ap_on_..._fi/fed_economy
  6. Thanks for the welcome! I was born and raised in the Richmond area... first in east end Henrico near the city, now in Mechanicsville.
  7. I agree. Bigger doesn't always necessarily mean better anyway. Look at some of the biggest cities in the world such as London, Paris, or DC. Their cities don't thrive on monster-sized high-rises. Also, between HR and Richmond, I don't think that either will significantly surpass the other. I think development is happening at a pretty equal pace in both cities.
