Interesting news about the former Crowne Plaza. Kind of unexpected. Where is The Lakeside project at?

Thanks for the updates. I check this thread every so often to read up on the new stuff. Just need some big jobs news to come through. Hopefully the Macon Bibb Industrial Authority can land some big prospects.

It's not a high-rise project, but here is an overhead shot of the recently completed Klaus Advanced Computing Building at Georgia Tech. One of the most environmentally friendly buildings around.

Ever wondered what ATL looks like from a FA-18? These pics were taken on Thursday when these two jets did a practice run over Tech for a fly over during Tech's Homecoming game this past Saturday. Both of the jets were flown by Tech grads.

Funny you should ask Andrea. Here is a project that GT is implementing in parts all through out campus. The creek was made part of the ATL sewer system. Well in a few years it'll be a nature preserve on campus with the creek running through again. On GT's west campus, you can still see where the creek runs because when it rains it creates a steady torrent of water that follows the original creek path. Eco_commons Heres another link about the Eco-Commons that explains the topology of old Atlanta and new Atlanta and how it will make the Eco-Commons. Transforming campus. Hybrid, the Connector would be right about where the paragraph on 'The Flats' is. The street directly in front of Tech Tower is North Avenue. The diagonal running street on the left side of the map is Hemphill, which still runs through today. It looks like they started carving a new part of the city grid just above North Avenue, it looks to be the approximate location of 5th street today.

Heres a very interesting perspective of Atlanta circa 1892. It would be weird to look out my dorm room right now and see a farm behind it.

That condo tower at Gwinnett Place Mall would do wonders for the tarffic on Pleasant Hill and Satellite. I'm not exagertaing when I say that traffic is worse there everyday then it is on Peachtree St at 6pm on a Friday afternoon. Great idea.

I have a great picture idea, but no camera......coming down Northside drive towards midtown right before you get to 17th street(theres a gay bar, the aptly named Swinging Richards,and a mexican rest. there), the view is incredible as you come up to the crest of the hill). You can see the entire(midtown and downtown) skyline rise up over the trees.

Got a real nice one here. This one thing Georgia Tech should use when recuiting anybody for academics or athletics.

Labtec, you must have been a labtec at GT for a long time

Jimmy Williams is a grade A thug/punk. I don't know if you watched many of his games, but he certainly has attitude problems. With all that said he is a great football player. The DJ Shockley pick was pure sympathy IMO. They didnt need another backup qb, they needed some OL.

If all the areas got filled in for ATL, who knows.
