  1. Definitely a Regional Jet as the tightest configuration only allows 80 passengers. Also, these two daily flights are operated by "Republic."
  2. Supermarine of Arkansas LLC, which operates an FBO at the airport (in the old Omni Air facilities) is about to break ground on a new $25 million construction project at the airport. According to an Arkansas Business article, there will be six new hangars with 180,000 SF under roof and a 9,700-SF executive terminal. It will spread over more than 23 acres at 2101 Frazier Pike and should be completed in about 18 months.
  3. Sounds like they were saying Benton is a comfortable place to live... that "you'll feel great here" etc. Just because someone says "life is great here," doesn't necessitate that life is somehow BAD somewhere else.
  4. That feed mill... what can I say??? It's an eyesore.
  5. The increase in incentives from 100,000 to 250,000 was a step in the right direction. All major airports have incentive funds in their budgets, which include items such as waiving overnight fees etc. Check out this excerpt from the ADG regarding DFW: That's $200,000 in incentives for a RJ to Mexico! That's what LIT is up against! As far as WHERE this Mexico flight would be taking us...
  6. Andres Chao (the Mexican consul general) gave a speech to the Arkansas Committee on Foreign Relations on August 27th. During his speech Monday, Chao said negotiations are under way to establish a non-stop flight from Little Rock to Cancun, Mexico, sometime next year. Another flight from Little Rock to Guadalajara, Mexico, is being considered, he said.
  7. Paragould has a similar problem downtown. On one side of the main artery through town, there's an old abandoned mill. On the other... a cotton gin/ flea-market. Right in the heart of downtown. Huge eye-sores if you ask me.
  8. Website exists, but not complete yet... www.rockwatervillage.com
  9. Do you know if there are any plans to rehab the south side as well? Last time I was in town, I noticed this work going on. The finished product looks nice.
  10. With all the expansion at the airport, I'm really surprised we have not had an announcement of a new hotel development over there. When you consider all those additional flights, expansion of existing manufacturing facilities, etc, it seems that would be a prime area.
  11. And school projects such as "shadow-boxes". I always loved doing those things.
  12. Where's the big announcement I've been waiting for? I just can't wait... makin' me kraaazzzy.
  13. I haven't heard anyone talk about the new Little Rock Animal Village, which is set to open in December... just in time to adopt that pet for Christmas. The building wll cost $1.7 million and is located on Kramer Street just west of South University. The total square footage is 7,663. Here are a few renderings:
  14. Sorry, johnny. I don't always take the time to read every post. I scan fast for pics and major updates, which get me excited. I'm like an addict... give me more
  15. No, but I'm curious. What made you think that?
  16. If we're talking about comparing this to Harbor Town, that's very exciting. Here are some Harbor Town images.
  17. Here's another shot of Hot Springs' downtown. The tallest building you see is the Medical Arts Building, which was built in 1930. It holds the title of Arkansas' first skyscraper and was the tallest building in the state until 1960 when the Tower Building was built in Little Rock. The largest building, which is closest in this picture is the world famous Arlington Hotel.
  18. Thanks for the pics, skirby. I haven't been downtown in a few months, so I haven't seen any of this progress yet. Could you update me on what this is going to look like when it's all said and done? What exactly are they doing here for the nature center entrance? Thanks.
  19. skirby & Apork: I agree with both of you. Why not have finalized plans before raising money? Like you, I expected to be walking across both of these bridges by now.
  20. You really are "theman" . Thanks for the link. One of the items in the story that jumped out to me was the final fundraising phase for the Junction Bridge project.
