  3. Okay this must be a "new" tradition at EGR, cause I don't ever remember hearing about this happening: Band members suspended for spitting on freshman I can't believe pranks like this even exist, how rude. I guess those students have some time to think about their actions. Now we know what really happens at band camp....
  4. I'll be back from China for this event. I hope to see you there. Where else can you try 40 beers, eat food from Mangiamo's, and listen to music for $25? This event is a great deal for a good cause: BEERS OF THE WORLD @ THE CENTER OF THE UNIVERSE Saturday, October 21st, 2006 06:00 PM - 11:00 PM Mangiamo! 1033 Lake Drive SE Grand Rapids, MI 49506 Sample over 40 beers from around the World at this beer tasting event at Mangiamo
  5. I was in the third row, just east of the stage. What an amazing show!!!!
  6. Lower Bowl, 3rd row. Damn those tickets are expensive.
  7. You better watch how you talk to me big boy.... You know I will get you back! Anyone here going to see Eric Clapton tonight? I just scored three tickets on ticketmaster. Yeah!
  8. Okay, so has anyone here had UP featured in one of their dreams? It was the weirdest thing, yet it felt like it really happened. When I got up this morning I had to check the board to see if it happened, which is didn't. Anyway my dream featured GRDaddy, Budgie Frisket, & Rizzo..... Have you guys ever been in the same place? Weird.....
  9. Halloween is huge on the party scene here in GR. Starts the weekend before and goes to the weekend after. I don't think there is a haunted tour in the historic districts, why don't you plan one?
  10. It would be great if we had a thread to: discuss our travel plans, ask advice on visiting other cities, provide tips to felllow planeteers, and to update each other on our traveling experiences. Yes/No?
  11. Last weekend, I had a great time downtown at the Hispanic Festival. Tonight I'm heading back downtown for the Mexican Independence Day Festival. The Chicago based band, Sones de Mexico are playing tonight at 7pm, live at the Calder. You should stop down to hear the amazing music, eat the incredible food, and drink some good beer. This high energy event makes this the place to be tongiht.
  12. Are you talking about the Silver Derby on Burton? I went there for the first time two weeks ago. It was filled with Calvin college students. I guess they're all waiting for the Last Chance to re-open.
  13. Back to my weekend..... On Saturday, (of course I went to Farmer's Market in the morning), I had a great, no I had an incredible time Downtown. Reason #9 on why I love living in the central city: You can walk downtown in 20 minutes. Reason #5 on why I love living in the central city: Free Downtown Events! The Avenue of the Arts Market on S Division brought me back to the East Village in NYC/Milwaukee Avenue in Chicago. It had high energy, great music, and way cool art. Love the funkiness. Next up, Celebration on the Grand. Ohhhh.....fireworks.....cool.... Did anyone see the semi-truck with the large grill? But by far, my favorite event on Saturday night was the Hispanic Festival. I had such a good time that I'm excited to go to this event next year. Awesome food, good drinks, and thee hottest Salsa bands. I took four friends to this event and they all had a blast. Loved it, loved it!!!
  14. Watching football on Sunday night, I cannot believe the amount of Peyton/Eli Manning promotions/commercials. Reading the Sunday GRPress today, one could say that there is no news in the GR metro region today.
  15. Whew.....tonight Agassi made tennis history.
  16. OMG, Andre Agassi is playing in the US Open right now & he is amazing. GO Agassi!
  17. That's disgusting Nitro and not proper Fancy beotch conduct. On another note, I did make $25 this week on returning beer bottles to Martha's. I know we pay for the deposit, but its always nice to get that cash back!
  18. It disgusts me that there is not a bottle return policy in Chicago. I cringe when I'm at my sisters condo in Uptown and they oh so freely toss their bottles in the trash. On that note, I've had a hard time throwing away wine bottles. I finally couldn't do it anymore, I decided to save them up and either find a site that would take them or wait for the City to get on board. Well, I'm thrilled that the City came on board and now accepts wine bottles. This morning I watched the City take my recycling: 50 wine bottles and two cases of Champagne. I had to get an extra recycling bin for this one. Yeah!!!! Now I can feel guilt-free drinking wine at home. I think I'll get a nice Shiraz to celebrate!
  19. 261 College Ave SE is a beautiful house. I think it would be awesome to convert it into a private club.
  20. Do you think that the new The ######cat Dolls song "Buttons" is the theme song for the Button convention?
