  1. Great shots! I also went to Radio City recently. Here are some more pics, to continue with the theme: Did you go see the Christmas show? It was incredible!
  2. Bristol blocks the view from most of the town, but just below the Fall River line (and in southern FR itself) the hill is high enough that the skyline pokes out above Bristol. I'll have to check out the view from on campus. I have photographed the view from the bottom of Cory's Ln. I've got a shot from there buried somewhere in this thread. The only problem is that sitting right at sea level, much of the shorter buildings fall below the horizon. I'd bet the Abbey has a better view, now that you mention it.
  3. Around Main Road heading toward the Fall River line? I was driving that the other day, looked over, and happened to notice how spectacular (if distant) the skyline looked.
  4. I took a couple dozen pics of that sunset a couple weeks back, but none fit that exactly. Plenty show Waterplace, and some go past the dorms, but none of the sunset pics do both. I should've grabbed a pano while I was there! Of the lot, this is the closest I have to what you're looking for:
  5. I made a thread in the Photos section about tonight's spectacular sunset over Capital Center. Come check it out!
  6. There's a halo around the moon right now. Means snow within 24 hours.
  7. In my opinion, snow is great anytime between Thanksgiving and Christmas. After that, it really needs to start warming up again.
  8. I've been parking on the street for about six years now, and I'd never been hit until the end of August. I just managed to get the last incident resolved/closed/behind me, when I walk out this morning and...
  9. ^ Speaking of insurance, somebody hit my parked car overnight. Second time this fall!
  10. No problem. I feel pretty much the same way you do about talk radio. While I tend to agree with liberal radio more than conservative, I do spend some time listening to the other side. Of course it's all propaganda, and hearing both sides of an issue is really the only way to get a sense of the whole picture.
  11. Sure: www.airamerica.com If I remember correctly, the first time you visit they ask your age, gender, etc, but there's also a small link to go directly to the stream. If whatever is on there doesn't call me, but I want a progressive radio fix, I'll sometimes listen to the stream at www.wkoxam.com out of Boston. Good stuff!
  12. I LOVE that song! Every year, I tell myself I have to buy that CD. Maybe this year, I'll actually do it. At the moment, I'm listening to Air America Radio's live stream. I am a liberal, after all.
  13. That was two Saturdays ago, on my way up to Thayer st. from Waterfire.
  14. ^ Beautiful buildings. Here's a shot of construction in Providence's Capital Center district, on the northern edge of downtown. The building under construction in the foreground is the Waterplace Intercontinental condos, a two-tower complex of 17 and 19 stories. The blue glassy midrise poking out behind Waterplace is the ten-story headquarters of Gtech corporation, scheduled to be completed later this month. The highrise with the green roof behind Waterplace is the Westin Hotel, and the tower under construction to the left is a slightly taller sister tower to the Westin, housing more hotel rooms and condos. It is also interesting to note that twenty years ago this would have been a view of nothing but surface parking and railroad yards. Every building in the picture is recent construction, a neighborhood being built from the ground up.
  15. This is a couple weeks old, but it is a nice night shot of the construction projects in Capital Center:
