  1. New restaurant coming to Loso at the intersection of Clanton and Dewitt. - Looks like loso might become the new southend atleast before the land prices get too high and we become full of offices w 10 stories of podium parking - luckily a lot of the prime lots are being taken by retail/restaurants or mid rise buildings.
  2. I believe it’s a giant apartment complex. Saw it when I was looking through brownsfield docs. Can’t recall if there was any retail tho
  3. I completely agree. It’s pretty much becoming it’s own city. as for the tenant, I wouldn’t be suprised if bofa signed a lease and made it a part of their tech center. Gateway village is incredibly outdated and not what a Fortune 500 company should be pushing in order to draw new tech talent.
  4. Apparently someone closed on one of the Ryan homes on south tryon and when they came to their house, they discovered a homeless person who seems to have been camping in their house for several days. Lol gotta love developers who don’t even pretend to protect their investments. In other news, looks like gilde is delaying their opening until mid December.
  5. Imagine if we got an MLB stadium in southend, and mixed use development around it (like the battery in Atlanta) My god, southend would turn into a city of its own.
  6. Breakdown of vendors and square footage of each parcel at loso village.
  7. Site plan for Loso apartments going next to the south tryon Ryan homes. Looks like no retail of course lol.
  8. with that said, if never hurts to have more. Southend is a damn urban utopia within this car centric city but damn, I have a feeling that it’s going to turn into an office/luxury apartment dominated district with little to no retail in the next 10 years. Seems like we build these huge parking garages and buildings and never put anything on the ground floor. Developser truly don’t get what makes people want to live in southend in the first place.
  9. Area around scaleybark station is getting a new brewery by April 2022 https://www.instagram.com/p/CUxGFa1gG9u/?utm_medium=copy_link ^ this in combination with golden opening by the end of the year, and the birdie Yang Entertainment district, this place is gonna look very different come next summer. speaking of, I’ve noticed that the prop roses birdie yang entertainment district now has a giant construction fence around it so I predict development will start there before the end of the year and I could see it being fully realized by the summer. I’ll also say that I drove by the platform (proposed mixed use across from the lidle) and it saw construction equipment there so the place might actually start being developed. I think this development is the key to making LoSo more accessibly and will encourage those who live near new bern station to venture down to LoSo, since it’ll serve as a nice gateway. Give it 3 years, and LoSo might just be called southend.
  10. Updates/Comments that I have about the area. 1. I’ve heard word from Gilde that they should now be open by the end of the year. 2. The entertainment district that’s supposed to be across from gilde, and projected to open by spring of 2022 hasn't even started yet. 3. The Ryan townhomes on Tryclan drive are moving full steam ahead and should be reaching close to completion by the end of next summer. Ryan has built a lot of townhomes around southend, and I’ll say these are probably in the worst location (right next to a busy road, and across from a family dollar that sees arrests, drug deals, and just general loitering everyday). I think in 5 years, this area will be unrecognizable though. 4. The Profitt Dixon apartment lot next to the Ryan townhomes seems to be pretty much demolished. I could see actual construction starting to occur in the next 30-45 days. 5. Novel loso is projected to be fully done by late October/early December which is the same time frame that those offices will start so that area will be in a perpetual state of construction for the next 1.5 years if I had to guess.
  11. ^ atleast in southend, the prices are sky rocketing these past couple months. If you charge a “reasonable” rate, it’s beyond easy to get tenants now and that’s probably how people see the Ellis. I’m truly wondering if the demand for Charlotte is that high or if the system is going to topple eventually.
  12. It’s honestly terrible at this point. I live about a 5 minute walk from the rail, and even I just take ubers sometimes because waiting an extra 20 mins for the next one is just too damn long.
