  1. That did come off more hostile than I intended, my apologies. I meant to say that I didn't agree with your analogy, your characterization of my comments and that I don't care if you feel differently. Hey man, I don't get paid for this. I'll do you a favor and stop posting immediately. Just be clear, the headquarters will be built in Rock Hill and Tepper has no leverage (hopefully RH realizes this).
  2. I don't usually sit on the couch yelling for bankers to make quarterly quota (or whatever they do). This player has a track record of violence and Panthers signed him (and tried to trade for a guy credibly accused of serial sexual misconduct). That impacts how I feel about the team. I don't GAF if you feel differently.
  3. JacksonH, you should respond since you live in downtown San Diego...
  4. Agree. I take it about as seriously as I do the opinions of two random people on Urban Planet.
  5. Regarding Flywheel, you are of course correct. I love their ideas but so far none of what excited me has actually developed. Regarding the park, I respectfully disagree. I referenced the NFL stadium because the costs are similar (which you confirmed), albeit the park wouldn't have a billionaire funding a third of the cost. That said, the park would be a multi-generational treasure and accessible to ALL Charlotteans (and not a monument to a billionaire's ego) . Spreading that throughout the city would not have the same impact. Adding a Fairmont Park, Balboa Park, Millennium Park, etc., to Charlotte would be well worth the cost. No great city would sell their best park for $2B so we shouldn't hesitate to invest a similar amount to build one here.
  6. https://www.flywheelgrp.com/ https://www.queensparkclt.org/ I've long been a fan of Flywheel. They have the most creative and exciting ideas around. I hope more comes to fruition. While I'm here, I'll say that nothing would positively transform Charlotte like Queen's Park (since there is some overlapping creative leadership). I'd take it over a new NFL stadium without hesitation (and incidentally, NY City has Central Park and no NFL stadium) . We need to make that a top priority, right along with light rail expansion. If we want to be truly "world class", we need to acquire that land and build that park.
  7. So I listened from 4:30 to 13:30 and the mention of the gag order is pure conjecture on the part of one of the guests (which doesn't contradict your post in any way). It's important to note that no one with knowledge of the proceedings has indicated that a gag order is in place. I'm including a link to the cast on Spotify as I found it much easier to listen to the relevant part of the program. https://open.spotify.com/episode/3T6aGe0cQQ65oAHqvTmVng?si=ABQGlqh0RFGTyYRmA2pCMQ&utm_source=copy-link Also remember that Tepper has also refused to address the performance of his team and the future of his hand picked head coach (and that presumably is not the result of a gag order). Thanks for sharing, I usually never miss the news round up (I listen Saturday morning) but I did this week.
  8. I personally know several people making six figures who left their jobs for others where they can work from home full time. They may not walk away if they have no alternative but there is no doubt people are leaving because they don't want to return to the office. It's why we are 4 days a month instead of the 12 originally discussed and 20+ pre pandemic. Is it enough to have a real effect? Depends on how you define that. Our professional staff can now wear jeans and athletic shoes, come in 4 days a month and many will be getting significant raises in the near future. It's a seller's market.
  9. San Diego's skyline ain't bad, despite height restrictions and too many near duplicate buildings...definitely wouldn't say vastly inferior to Charlotte:
  10. I almost mentioned that building. It is indeed awful but I still think the H2S is worse. I won't argue with you or anyone who wants to nominate Lincoln Harris buildings either...
  11. We? That sounds more like confusion in reporting. Their explanation sounds plausible to me. If it's untrue, why are the Panthers not talking? We know they aren't taking the high road since they shut the project down and blamed Rock Hill. It's mystifying that they refuse to speak (and that people are defending them). FWIW, I'm a fan and I want them here.
  12. You are basing this on what exactly? The Panthers and Tepper refuse to comment, the city, county and state all commented. I guess it's possible your version of events is correct but I'm wondering why you believe it? Since you say the city has changed their story 50 times, can you give us one example?
  13. All reasonable. My personal preference is a park ON the Belk and a park north of the Brookshire. Probably highly unrealistic.
