Another Big project dead... man the pandemic messed it up for the big projects planned downtown. I have a feeling St. Jude might buy the land to build out. I really don't want that. We need something similar to what he proposed for the downtown area. I hope so. There's so much potiental. Especially how Laurelwood across street from the Mall has redeveloped and stabilized. That area does remind me alot of Green Hills. I believe the retail and commercial market will get stronger as properties are being invested.

Just imagine, they're adding another phase next to these, so much of this portion of Broad on one side will be full of apartments.

Even though I'm down for another bridge somewhere north of downtown to connect 385, this could solve that issue for a 3rd bridge. As long as they don't shut that one down.

Yeah, I was just wondering about the Pinch project. I think some article from the beginning of this year when he filed for an extension, or permit for the Pinch, he mentioned something about the end of 2023 to start the construction work on it. I need to find the article.

The lot that had plans with the Clipper and hotel development? It would make sense to bring that area up. I forgot what developer had that land, but that would be nice to have a entertainment destination there. I see they have Punch Bowl Social there at the Deer District, I was literally looking into this place last week because they have locations around the country, and I felt that it could do well Downtown, Midtown, East Memphis- Poplar area, or Collierville/Cordova. I said on here that Downtown is in need of a Fun arcade, bowling, mini golf type of entertainment.

These aren't quite official. These are some of the plans for the Racquet Club site vision. With this, Oak Court Mall redevelopment, the development on Mendenhall south of the tracks, and The Standard in Germantown. The Poplar corridor will get stronger financially.

You say this and come on a Memphis forum to down a "different tier" city, but I gaurntee you're not on those listed cities pages to do the same, and you should, since they're a peer city and more in competition.

MLGW Plans to move from Downtown https://dailymemphian.com/section/metrocity-of-memphis/article/38924/memphis-mlgw-to-move-downtown-headquarters I wanted to report this news last week before it got out. I have a friend that works for MLGW and they told me last week that they just found out about the main office moving out of downtown. I didn't know it would be reported that soon though. Overall, I'm glad because that space downtown will be valuable being near a Entertainment district.

Handling crime is one thing, and healing the perception of real danger is another. From what it seems, Memphis reputation has been damaged some because of the push of people wanting to let the world know how our crime here is going. Almost making it apart of Memphis identity. It's a must that we get a rebrand along side of lowering crime. Forbid if someone who dont know nothing about Memphis, only knows about its crime.

I remember calling it back in 2019 that they will probably erect 4-5 high/mid rises, but 7 is amazing. I see what they planning and that'll be Memphis's "Buckhead". Downtown for the wealthy. I like it, and hope they can develop to the fullest without the oppositions. I want to see a 2nd downtown in the city. Its unique, even though it's sprawling. For the South its not abnormal, but we'll stand out from a cities with that added.

I remember around 2005/2006 Memphis crime "rose" in numbers because MPD started using FBI raw data comprehensive crime reporting system. Alot of cities at the time weren't counting up data the same. I remember someone explaining it online like... because of the FBI reporting some crimes would be counted double, triple, or more. Like if a fight broke out and multiple people got involved, in the old reporting it would count as one Assault, vs now it would account as multiple assaults with all involved. I'm not sure if other cities adapted this reporting system by the FBI, but that increased our numbers noticeably compared to the year before and exaggerated our numbers compared to cities that didnt.
