  1. Some updated photos. The DHI is going to be all the existing brick building plus the new facade I believe. Not sure what the red fence across the street from Jewett is, maybe a staging area? I also heard that they are planning to demo the white building down the road across from the Ortho hospital to build a new neuroscience institute.
  2. Yes the addition doesn’t seem like it will be very large, but they are repurposing most of the brick building behind it and making it part of the DHI.
  3. Some updated shots of Jewett and the Digestive Health Institute.
  4. Latest updates. Jewett has topped out!
  5. Agree. I am pretty sure OH owns that parcel and will do something with it in due time.
  6. Pictures of downtown from the parking garage at Orlando Health. I like this view of the city!
  7. Newest updates from a rainy day. Coming along!
  8. Downtown drone pic from college park
  9. Some updated shots of the orthopedic hospital and also work on the digestive health institute.
  10. Some pictures from last week from the front of trinity Lutheran church pumpkin patch. Really love the way radius has ended up looking with white and brick.
  11. I'm actually not sure. I'll keep you updated! My understanding is that eventually they are going to demo the white brick building behind it and build something like a neuroscience institute.
  12. Some new photos of Jewett and the Digestive Health Institute from today.
  13. Does anyone know if there are any plans to do something with this lot downtown? Seems like it's been there undeveloped for a long time.
  14. Some updated construction photos from this week.
  15. It's funny, I almost never see the "front" entrance of the hospital, but it does look quite nice. here Once the DHI and Jewett are finished, will be a nice and dense entry. Hopefully will be well-connected as well for easy movement between buildings.
  16. Updated photos of Jewitt and the Digestive Health Institute. FAD553BD-4BA8-4DEA-9049-F6252EF0399F.heic 37B986FE-F176-4967-9652-9DA250413733.heic
  17. As with any city, there are a significant amount of homeless people in the downtown area. I have seen many Downtown Ambassadors just walk by people sleeping in the street without any intervention or attempt to aid. I know this is a complex issue, but what do you think is a sustainable way to help combat homelessness in our community? I know there are some "housing first" programs that aim to offer shelter as a first step to helping people escape the cycle of homelessness. Something like Pathlight Home comes to mind. What do you all think? This is one of those areas that has the potential to improve not only the lives of those affected, but also improve the overall experience of those wanting to enjoy the offerings of our city.
  18. New project seems to be about to start construction on Mills. The area has been fenced off. Looks like this will be about 177,000 sq ft medical office with a six-story parking garage adjacent. Seems like a good use of a long-vacant patch of grass. Link to article https://www.genesisstudios.com/2021/06/03/obj-upshot-medical-center/
  19. With so many projects going on, I figured I would make a new thread for the downtown Orlando Health campus. Here are some photos from this weekend along with some concept art. First is the new Digestive Health Institute. Next is an update of the Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute And last is an unknown future construction site. I have heard that it is going to be a heart failure unit for a possible future heart and lung transplant institute. Will be interesting to see what this campus looks like in 5 years!
  20. Good to see some significant movement on this. I hope the final product looks better than I think it will.
  21. This is the render of that building. I’ll see if I can get a photo of it tomorrow.
  22. If it’s the one that I think you’re alluding to, it’s already been built and completed maybe six months ago.
  23. Do you have a link for these projects?
  24. Agree the WPH cafeteria is the best! However the ORMC one is pretty good too these days. The original hospital, cancer center tower, and newer north tower are all connected quite well. Right now the ACC is inconvenient to get to but it looks like they are fixing that with the upgrade to the Digestive Health institute.
