  1. From today, sorry for the low resolution but this thing has grown on me
  2. Is it just me or have they already started going up with the first moldings of the facade?
  3. @Crucial_Infra if I’m not mistaken the video comes from an Instagram account that is set to private, meaning only people who follow @dcgehrin on Instagram can see their posted content.
  4. Imagine South end with the “Design Center Tower” completed and how much it will make South end seem like it’s an integral part of the uptown skyline. Really liking how it’s turnig into the Atlanta - Midtown wide angle effect if that makes any sense.
  5. This thing is is imposing as hell... in a good way! Loving the sheer size of this thing. Sure it’s girth but we’ve got something like 10 floors still to go and also there is a setback starting here in another floor or two which will “slim down” the building even more.
  6. Wow, @ricky_davis_fan_21 starting to think more on how good the views would be if they did put a pocket park there like the one you drew up. How feasible would it be to actually put a public park there?
  7. Managed to park at Dowd Y and hop a fence to get this pretty cool pano of like 8 projects in one shot. Al I can say is DENSITY. Check it out!
  8. Interesting viewpoints. Parts of me love it too since most cities don’t have as many trees per capita as Mecklenburg County does. Also love that Charlotte is a melting pot of people from all over that do appreciate unique key things we do have like the trees and the breath of fresh air from your New York’s or LA’s.
  9. I was going to put this in the coffee house thread but this is actually relevant to the overall attractiveness and the aesthetics of our city’s photography. This may not be popular opinion but I wish Charlotte had less trees... sort of. I think the tree line density really obstructs views that would otherwise be incredibly encompassing of our urban density from miles out. I’d even go so far as to say we would have a better chance of getting that “top 5 skylines in the country” reputation if there wern’t so many towering trees nearby. For example coming in from Providence Rd, or even Independence, the city would seem so much more dense if you could see more of the 250-400 footers from further out. Even though I’m certain cutting down tons of trees in these residential areas would be unrealistic. Thoughts?
  10. Here’s today driving along 277. I tried to get as much construction as possible. Loving BOAT now because the glass corners for me really do just enough to make it look like it was built in this decade and not actually in the 80’s. I was born here in ‘96 and have lived here ever since. So, I’m absolutely proud of any development Charlotte can get really. https://youtu.be/jpTZ1yVaIEA
  11. Today about at about 3:30. Wish I could’ve gotten more. Unexpected detour at this intersection. But loving the way the facade is shaping up. I’m with @KJHburg invite me to the topping out!
