Just because someone tweets about something doesn't mean they have active interest in launching it. After all, Rick tweeted about changing the Michigan flag and that didn't seem to go very far.

I will be excited if it is anything except the following: 1) New Downtown Hotel outside of the proposal in between Windquest and Auditorium. 2) New downtown headquarters for a regional law firm. 3) New brewery within 100 mile radius of GR.

As much as I hate it...It's still a very good testament to the American Dream. Like you can still, no matter what what your fantasies are, pretty much do what you want if you have the means.

Honestly, a moratorium on > 12 story buildings may not be a bad thing. After all, who'd buy a penthouse that looks over a hideous castle.

I've heard some rumblings that Atwater could be on the way out? Both from someone in the community and a friend that lives in Rowe.

The Windquest Building is 8 stories and this looks to be significantly higher than that. This article from Mlive says Amway Grand Tower has 286 rooms? I can't imagine the footprint is going to be much larger, meaning a 400 hotel room will be around the same height if not taller. http://www.mlive.com/business/west-michigan/index.ssf/2014/10/high-end_hotel_new_rooms_in_th.html

I feel like the RiverFront on Ann Street is much further away. Starting to get a little anxious on hotel projects coming online in the next 2-3 years. Hyatt, AC, Hilton on north Monroe.....Do we think these will put pressure on 28th street hotels? Or will we have excess capacity.

I work across the street and it seems they took about 10 days off after 01/01. Maybe because it was too cold to pour cement?
