  1. You are 100% correct on 2030 Rosa Parks. That's my best friend's lot and he had been debating what businesses to bring to that spot. We had discussed possibly a fast casual concept like a Panera or a Corner Bakery. He was approached by the guys doing those two concepts and I believe an unnamed third is actually going there as well if I'm not mistaken.
  2. This looks like the design of someone with no budget and certainly no imagination. My daughter can build this in minecraft. LOL
  3. It's an architectural disaster (1821 Jefferson). Hope this is not a sign of things to come from this group as they have bought a lot of key property around that area.
  4. I remember going to Metro Center as a kid with my dad to a seafood restaurant there (fisherman something or hungry fisherman perhaps). I thought it was magical. Then came fountain square and soon the whole area went down the tubes. lol
  5. I certainly understand the impact of gentrification and I'm not advocating kicking old people out of their homes because the tax rates go up due to rising home prices. My ire is solely directed at the leeches of the community, who more often than not complain without even having an actual financial stake in the community. My mother never made more than 50k in any given year but she saved her money and bought the property and built the quadruplex that I now run. I'm all for helping people especially the elderly, but let's not infantilize people who can and should be capable. We do them and the neighborhood a disservice by doing so.
  6. His history says hotels so I would be surprised if it’s another large residential project and that area could use more hotel space.
  7. Ok, I might get blasted for this but here it goes. I'm an african american who owns property in this area. The area sat and atrophied for years and years and now people want to complain when there are good restaurants, new retail, and new energy moving into the area. Gimme a break. If you are so bothered now, where was that righteous indignation when the neighborhoods were falling apart. If you want to preserve the rich history of the neighborhood then do so but to do that you have to get off the sidelines and do something. Spend some money. If you don't have it it pool your resources. I understand the frustration but the answer is to compete not to beotch and moan. Let the sniping begin...
  8. Is there a reason that so many of these new developments are going with this more modern style. Unless there is a cost savings, I see no reason for them in more classically developed neighborhoods. They look like out of place and architecture that won't age well.
  9. Would love to come to the forum meets. I live in Atlanta and come back home to Nashville to check on the property and now to make upgrades to cater to the changing demographic of the neighborhood. Our plan in the short term is to begin converting some of our rental units to airbnb and see how that works out. Further down the road I'd like to tear down our quadruplex and build a mixed use building on the property. Something that fit in with the design of the beautiful buildings on Fisk's campus as we are the only land owners directly adjacent to the campus.
  10. As a landowner in this area (17th and Jefferson), I welcome a development like this. The bigger issue though is securing the land from landowners who have absolutely no intention whatsoever to sell. A lot of horse trading involved to get something like the landbridge to go through.
