  1. The LLCs @numsteadmentioned all roll back to Fredrick Rosendall - owner of Copperrock Construction. So I would hazard a guess that most, if not all, of those properties could be a part of the development.
  2. I just looked at the Hartford airport on Google Maps and it looks incredibly similar to GRR. Two similar sized concourses and the main parking garage just across the road going past the front of the building. Even this new rental car facility is going in a similar position relative to the other buildings of the airport.
  3. Maybe this sport? Black pentagons and white hexagons…
  4. I’m glad people are finally looking at other ways to get to the airport, one option talks about direct access to I-96 with a tunnel under the north runway (which will someday be upgraded to full service like the other two)
  5. Look up the land owner a little closer. Good Will, Inc. is still actually Meijer. I believe most of the parcels that the corporate campus sit on are also listed as Good Will.
  6. AFAIK, the mezzanine floor will still be there. But the look and feel will be a lot like the Clyde Park Meijer. Produce will finally be in the front! Jenison used to be my main Meijer and that was where my first ever job was, so I'm excited to see how it looks too! We moved up to the Rockford area last year so I don't get that way much anymore.
  7. I work for Meijer and had no idea they were building their own hangar! I wonder if they will still use Signature for their terminal/waiting area or will build that into the new building.
  8. Every time they do this I get my hopes up that a legacy carrier or Southwest will bring in a useful destination with a useful schedule. And I'll still cross my fingers that we get more direct access to the west coast. But, I'm putting my money on two new routes to sunny Florida served by Allegiant. There's still gotta be two cities we can't fly to down there, right??
  9. Question for any road nerds out there. I've been seeing this device pop up at intersections around town and am curious what it's used for. Any ideas?
  10. I used to work at that store. A long time ago it was a McDonald's, and prior to that it was a unique-to-Meijer fast service restaurant (Fred's Grill?). The staff locker room was expanded to part of what used to be the kitchen, the red floor tiles and white kitchen walls are still there. For a long time it sat empty, and was used for extra storage of bulky for sale items like grills and bikes. As of early 2018 it was used for overflow regional pharmacy staff with cubicles up there. Not sure if that's still the case now.
  11. They're still moving forward with the international arrivals project. Breaking ground now. https://www.woodtv.com/news/kent-county/project-to-bring-direct-international-arrivals-to-ford-airport-begins/
  12. I hope the Grand Rapids Art Museum or the Public Museum preserve some of these murals. It seems that this will be a pivotal moment in American society and it would be good to archive parts of Grand Rapids' place in the movement.
  13. All new Meijer stores and most remodels going forward are getting this enclosed section. Source: I work there.
  14. I don't have much info on the Alpine store but understand several departments will be touched and will have completely revamped checkout lanes. We must be mindful that it is the closest store to the corporate office so while it's not a flagship it will always have inportant sets of eyeballs on it. In related news, keep an eye out on the Jenison store this year. I am being told that they will get a major remodel like the Clyde Park store got last year.
