DCtransplant started following Charlotte

It's happening absolutely everywhere on the west side. There really should be more stringent rules around protecting the existing canopy. Most of the time on these projects, they'll cut down all the mature tress and then plant a few new trees upon project completion - half of them end up dying. Absolute shame.

If I remember correctly, the duke endowment purchased it a few years back to avoid it being bought up and turned into a dollar store. There was talk of some plans to turn it into a food incubator, but never materialized. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk

Charlotte Hornets and the Arena

They've been so much fun to watch this year. The only teams that really look unbeatable for us are those with dominant centers like the sixers. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk -
Reminds me of the Soviet Safeway in DC... Never has fully stocked shelves. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk

Yeah the sizing seems to be off of the ad. On my laptop (chrome browser) the x is unreachable. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk

Did a little urban exploring this weekend and walked deep into MLK park behind Savona Mill. It's not hard to picture how nice the greenway extension along Stewart creek could be. So much potential. Add a few walking bridges to connect the park with the Savona development and you really have some beautiful "live work play". Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk

There are a couple in Biddleville by JCSU. Believe it's Campus St. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk -
Anyone have any experience with the UNCC Masters in Urban Design program that they can share? Dabbling with the thought of enrolling part time but don't have any personal references or connections to speak to the quality of the program and potential partnerships/career paths in Charlotte post graduation.

Well you learn something new everyday. By the metropolitan. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk

I liked the concept but the number of times I saw people break the rules made the policy meaningless. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk

Update tour of the warehouse renovations. Starting on Jay St, then to Wray Ward, summit seltzery, and down the street. Good movement! Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk -
A few pics from around the west trade corridor. First four are at Five Points and of the two construction sites to create the new Five Points plaza across from JCSU. Apparently there is a Rita's opening up right here as well on Rozelle's. So could be a nice outing with the kids. Pics five and six are of the proposal for the Mosaic Village extension that stalled out about a year or so ago. Sign is new so may be trying to dust this off again since it's right on the gold line.
