  1. I've wandered this for a while?? That's a common thing in most cities and we can't seem to figure out how to make it happen.. I've heard parking will be free for anyone buying more than a one way ticket.
  2. It's got some flair that most buildings in uptown don't have. I'm not saying the UNC Charlotte building is great but these two beside each other start to give this area a nice weird modern vibe!
  3. Reedy Creek is great and is one of the oldest courses in the area! Charlotte is one of the disc golf capitals of America with the amount of quality courses we possess!
  4. Disappointed with an 0-5 start and years of mismanagement. Time for change! http://firejudyrose.com #FireRose #FireJudyRose
  5. This is going to make the airport look much more big time compared to the control tower on site now. Definitely excited for the option of a hotel on the site of the current tower as well!
  6. I think Charlotte could support MLS or MLB given the right situation! I don't think the Smith family gives that opportunity in MLS though due to their former behavior. I see a pro sports team owned by them looking like a George Shinn owned hornets team.
  7. So what's the consensus? Is it the full fledged station in 2024 or the AmShack? when is the AmShack being built if it's before the full fledged station?
  8. That's awesome looking! Any idea where @bringbackthebuzz received that rendering from? Something of that scale pitched to the public could certainly stir up interest in an MLS club.
  9. Is the Orange Line between Chapel Hill and Durham completely dead? I can't find any news on it other than when the DOT capped light rail funding a year or so back. Best of luck to you guys on your mass transit either way!
  10. Attendance wasn't awful, but was not impressive. I would say the problem is that no one other than die hard fans knew it was a big game. The average football fan probably thinks we're still terrible because all they've seen are our bad home losses. Clearly Charlotte has no home field advantage. We can't seem to buy a home win even against an inferior opponent. I have no idea how to explain that one.
  11. Sadly we blew another home game this week verses Rice. A bowl isn't off the table but is much harder to attain at this point. Charlotte's football team is on the rise but blowing games against inferior opponents at home certainly doesn't make people want to come back. Some coaching changes are probably needed in order for the program to reach the next level.
  12. Density is is the best thing that could possibly happen in UCity right now. In the next 10 year UNCC will reach 35k students. Density close to campus means less cars and more walking. These types of project also build a more urban feel which is dearly needed in the areas surrounding campus.
  13. The old miner has been moved from the front of campus to the new quad in front of Union. I personally think this was a good move because he's now more in the public eye and it's about the only thing that screams "Go Niners!" anywhere on campus these days.
  14. Calm down hotshot, there are others we just might not post that often. Nice pictures by the way! I'm still not buying that students will be in Levine this semester. There are huge portions of walls that are unfinished and construction projects are notorious for not getting finished on time at UNCC.
  15. The red canopies look awesome! I'm glad they are keeping them similar but changing some things up at the same time. Can't wait for the new portion of the blue line to open. It will change alot in Noda, UCIty, and UNCC.
  16. The stadium is in good shape in a great location with a fairly modern feel. We've continually sold it out even when we weren't good. Outside of more renovations there is no reason the city should be forking out cash for the panthers within the next 20 years. They have a great stadium and building a brand new dome just for a super bowl would never be worth it.
  17. Is it possible that they would be able to bring the front car past the platform halfway and the back car halfway as well and only open half the doors on the shorter platforms? I've seen this done on the New York subway system when the platforms weren't long enough for the train.
  18. For what it's worth this complex isn't too bad looking for UC. If we continue to see this kind of development an urban core could begin to form on 49. The school would do well to develop the corner of John Kirk and 49 but that doesn't seem to be one of their priorities right now.
  19. I heard it was a TV broadcast antenna for athletics. Could be wrong but that was the rumor on campus this past year.
  20. They did make a cutout past the station, My guess would be that it is either for track switching or for a future extension of the line.
  21. I really like the look of the plans! since the city clearly doesn't care about maintaining memorial I think it will make good use of the land while also honoring the historic structure that is in place currently.
  22. This building is going to end up being constructed where parking, receiving and stores, and the old steam plant are currently located. It will really clean up a trashy part of campus and connect the student health center to the rest of everything.
  23. Not sure why I couldn't get rid of the quote box btw. I apologize.
