  1. I have it on good authority the The Fried Rooster is set to open by the end of the month. Looking forward to another restaurant on this stretch of The Plaza!
  2. Was driving down Parkwood at Allen and noticed a rezoning petition sign (2018-060) on the site where the below building is located: It appears that the plan is to keep this old church and put townhomes (?) on the site: Any additional insider info?
  3. Holy cow, it's finally happening! Anyone know how to look up these rezoning petitions?
  4. Couldn't agree more - I've been consistently impressed with how fresh the Plaza FL produce is compared to HT... really the only drawback is that the assortment of items is a little narrower.
  5. Was grabbing a quick bite at the delicious Tamales la Pasadita at 3112 The Plaza the other night, and discovered that they blew out the wall next to the booths and appear to be expanding their dining area. Very happy to see this local restaurant doing well, and hope to see more dining establishments moving into this area in the near future.
  6. Authored two days after my comment... Dare I say the Agenda writers monitor UP???
  7. I was just talking to a friend last night about how odd it is that there's no Facebook page and no Agenda press to be found...
  8. Looks like another demo fence went up around 226 Parkwood -- I had high hopes that this little brick building would survive as something cool...
  9. Update: Both the property on Shamrock and the adjacent property on Beckwith were sold on 8/10 to the same buyer/company. Not much noise until yesterday when the doors were open and things were finally being cleared out. Anyone have any info on the plans for this?
  10. Does anyone know the story of this building at 1500 Shamrock? There never seems to be any activity (people coming or going) or upkeep to the building. The surrounding area is all zoned residential but it feels like it could be a cool spot for a NoDa Bodega-esqe type operation.
  11. Couldn't agree more! Even still, I'm all for giving local artists another place to build a following... hopefully they do it right.
  12. As I understand it, that is EXACTLY the intent for this space. After two failed attempts at country bars (let's just all agree that Coyote Joe's is the undisputed king in the Charlotte area), this space will now hopefully fill the void left by The Chop Shop and Tremont. Charlotte has been getting some solid top-tier acts in recent years, but to truly be known as a music-centric city, it also needs to support mid-tier and up-and-coming local acts. I'm personally very excited to see what they do with the place!
