  1. It's been very active. Like like they were expediting the parallel taxiway by the south connectors. They were hard at it after midnight last week.
  2. It's a closure of a satellite flight attendant base. Nothing more. There has not been a pilot base in ages. And we still have a pretty good sized maintenance facility. I wouldn't get your hopes up for Alaska to show up. Or excited to ride on a 737 on a transcontinental flight.
  3. I believe they're in the process of installing jet bridges on all or most of the gates on E con. They're also updating the bridges on the other concourses.
  4. This would be one of the most relieving ideas, I am betting it will never happen. For Cost reasons alone. Though, you never know. It would also eliminate some very old terminals.
  5. The jcba was essentially the current book post concessions. It's the worst contact I've worked under in my career by a long shot. And yeah it's time we get some or all of what was given up after 9/11. Airline management already usurped billions from it's employees by taking pensions. Then came the pay cuts. Etc. I know it's a business but I'm the same period executive compensation increased significantly. Isom's first act was to double his pay (millions) and then offer the pilots 4% during a period of record inflation.
  6. The pilots are still on the LAST bankruptcy contract as it is. AND since 9/11 pilots are earing roughly 40% less than they were then (corrected for inflation). If a bankruptcy judge were to gut our already garbage contract I think AA would be in pretty dire straits before then.
  7. The t would require MAJOR changes to the airframe to make the cabin "normal" with the rest of the fleet, not just moving seats around etc. I'm not sure we'd do that. Plus in my operational experience the seats are mostly full.
  8. No mention at all. Mostly just talk about the long connectors
  9. The project manager for the second pier was on the employee bus today. He indicated the third pier was paused indefinitely. But that the second pier should be done in 2 years.
  10. $8 billion terminal renovation/new construction in the most populous city in the US. Roughly 30 million passengers a year up there. It's not really a good comparison. Though I agree that the new terminals in LGA are outstanding. Really beautiful and open and large. The new terminals CLT is building are like $600 million a shot.
  11. feel like copying that article and messaging it to me? its behind a paywall
  12. Lax is awful. Come into the AA gates and there are tunnels that are frankly scary. Or your can go to the new international gates but it's random corridor hallways until you pop out in the terminal. Easy to get lost.
  13. I was parked on c2 last night lounge was a ghost town.
  14. In general the Reno is cheap. Look at the paper towel and soap dispensers. It looks like they clean them with sandpaper. They haven't finished the walls in b or c. I think the airport panicked at the onset of the pandemic and rushed everything to completion and chose to go cheap. And it looks like it.
  15. When US wanted to run it forever ago, they dropped it because it was mostly people redeeming miles from Charlotte... Money loser.
  16. Beautiful photos. I'm happy to see the airport returning to being busy again.
  17. The one by B security was open 24hrs for years. Crazy it's been closed so long now. Even chick FIL a is closed several days a week.
  18. Really a great photo. Used to fly the RJ. Had that view on the way out many times.
  19. It was a boneheaded decision in the first place. The other sim center in Dallas doesn't have the capacity to cover what we need.
  20. Or drive by the new control tower and see the enormous project south of it where they're building the cross taxiway and deice pad. Looks like they're grading between the west parallel runways, maybe in advance of the new runway.
  21. The area that had the model of the airport and chairs you referenced is blocked off for construction now.
  22. The 190/170/175 are a common type. And with crj 2/7/900.
  23. It was 330/320/190/767/757/crj/dash 8. Bt the crj And 190 sims still run a ton. 320 has scaled back a lot. Mostly in Dallas now
