  1. Smart. Need more pet supply in this area for sure. HATE going to Cotswold for petsmart and the pet supermarket in Dilworth is great, but I never see a single soul there other than me.
  2. Duckworths uptown received an 87.5 grade . Also, probably not ever eating at Chima again, not that I did that much... http://www.bizjournals.com/charlotte/news/2016/01/08/which-mecklenburg-county-restaurants-didnt-make.html
  3. Heard some rumblings about Heist today . . . anyone else out there hearing anything?
  4. I really really like the renovations to the food court / furniture in the common areas at SouthPark. Wish I had snapped pics, but lots more elevated seating. Feels way less like a high school cafeteria when you walk through it now.
  5. More info on Haberdish: According to renovation plans filed with the city, Haberdish will be at 3106 N. Davidson St., a historic building close to Cabo Fish Taco. The restaurant’s menu will include “delightful southern-inspired food and drink,” its developing Facebook page reads. Haberdish is a concept from Jeff Tonidandel, who owns Growlers Pourhouse and Crepe Cellar, both also in NoDa. Tonidandel has praised the neighborhood’s upkeep of historical buildings, noting that they add character. The building at 3106 North Davidson is one of four original commercial structures built in north Charlotte from about 1900 to 1927, according to rezoning paperwork filed with the city. The 3,000 square-foot restaurant will include 900 square feet of outdoor patio space, the planning papers show. It’s unclear when Haberdish will open. Tonidandel could not be reached for comment. http://www.charlotteobserver.com/news/business/biz-columns-blogs/whats-in-store/article52902695.html
  6. This is very exciting. Their current location is PACKED and the wait/parking lot has almost become unbearable at times. I kind of will only go during non peak hours now.
  7. This place is my own personal hell from 11:30-1:30 on weekdays. Crowded is an understatement.
  8. Here's Legion's beer selection. They open today. https://www.charlotteagenda.com/31016/legion-brewing-plaza-midwood/
  9. I wouldn't be surprised to see BBQ coming to Park Rd Shopping Center
  10. Drove by mercury which seemed to have about 10x more construction personnel than usual milling about. Is that retail down the whole frontage of 36th? Sure looked like it ....
  11. I was able to pop my head in this week. The space is expansive, with even more room to grow. The actual brew room is by far the most impressive part to me. I have a very unsophisticated palate, but they had a pilsner that I found pretty similar in profile to a cap't jack (which I really like).. I just really wish this space had more patio.
  12. Latta Arcade starting to look really alive now.
  13. http://www.charlotteobserver.com/news/business/biz-columns-blogs/whats-in-store/article48834945.html Charlotte restaurateur Frank Scibelli will open a new restaurant called Yafo Kitchen in SouthPark’s Morrison Place in early 2016. Taking its inspiration from fast-casual Middle Eastern street food, the new restaurant will feature Mediterranean fare like shawarma-spiced rotisserie chicken, hummus made from organic chickpeas and baba ganoush, according to a statement Wednesday.
  14. They are looking for another space, but IMO need a good tenant rep broker STAT
  15. French restaurant Terra closes its doors http://www.charlotteobserver.com/news/business/biz-columns-blogs/whats-in-store/article48764420.html
  16. prop +1 for the tycoon series analogy. I was addicted to those games growing up .
  17. Has anyone tried the new Vietnamese place CO at Park Road Shopping Center? I've been drooling over the menu all week, but they aren't open for lunch yet - just dinner service. http://www.eatatco.com/charlotte/#menu https://www.charlotteagenda.com/28306/co-is-now-open-at-park-road-shopping-center-preview-the-menu-14-photos/
  18. I've had slow service 100% of the time I've visited Amelies. 100%. Without fail. I'm skeptical this location will be able to overcome that. I've just sort of accepted it now - if you want to go there, great! Just don't be in a rush, or expect friendly service.
  19. The food court idea is something that if well executed is going to be a game changer.
  20. Meanwhile, the space where "fresh exclusive" (the sneaker shop) was remains empty at the bottom of The Nook
  21. Looks like they've pulled one over on us again. Not for nothing but holy crap that train is going to be loud to those apartments facing the railroad.
  22. That retail is labeled as the lobby / lounge n another elevation, right? So does this really have ZERO retail?
