Core drilling (or soil sampling) has started at the Hill Center Greenwood site (Sprouts). No picture, but crews were there this morning. I am glad to see some activity on this project.

The building(s) directly across Gallatin from the site are all empty, too. Looks like they are being prepped for demolition. Did I read somewhere that corner will be a parking structure?

In the Before image I see 2 lanes in each direction with no turning lane.

The After image has the equivalent of EIGHT traffic lanes, 3 car lanes in each direction and two train lanes. The left side of the image has conveniently lost all of the bike lane, sidewalk, and utility corridor...

    What sorcery is this?

I still can't believe this is actually going to happen, but I will say that at this point anything that adds foot traffic to accelerate the redevelopment of Main St isn't all bad.

Last remaining building on the "Bridal Suites AirBNB" lot is going down today.

First photo shows demo, second photo shows entire site with Koi Sushi lot on left.

There is a magnificent view of downtown from that hill where the water tanks sit.

Don't know if it's been posted, but here's a link to the site plan for development planned for Riverside Village. 60+ apartments I think. Really curious to see architectural drawings. If anyone has more info, please share. Thanks! http://maps.nashville.gov/MPC/2017SP-013-001_plan.pdf

I own a residential lot about a block from there. Will my property value go up or down as a result of this development? Any ideas?

  6. I did find some links to this group of "Disney family members":

Roy O. Disney died in 1971, two months after Disney World opened in October.

Walt's widow, Lillian, passed away in 1997.

Roy's son, Roy E. Disney, who was still involved with the Company business until 2006, passed away back in 2009.

Ron Miller (Walt's son-in-law and former Disney CEO forced out by Eisner back in '83) and his wife Diane (Walt's daughter) are both still alive and well and living in Northern California. Neither one of them provide any services to the current Disney Company. Diane and Ron run the Walt Disney Family Museum in San Francisco, but the musuem is not formally associated with the company that still bears Walt's name.

There is no one left from the Disney family, by name or by marriage, involved with the Disney Company.

The conductors/engineers that don't follow the short-short-long horn blasts when crossing the road and instead just lay on the horn for a solid 45 seconds are the ones you notice as it breaks with what your brain filters out, are the ones you want to strangle. haha

    Grade crossing is short-short-long-short. :)

Sorry, as a railfan I couldn't let that slide...
