Thanks for the post sir. That last photo is of the North precinct. That lot is in HBV accross the river. However, it does show just how elevated Bordeaux is over HBV in the back drop. There are so many residential areas here with views of the city. (I spend a lot of time driving over here while working) Check out bordeaux hills, (coca drive, panorama dr) areas. Also, river drive, Esther dr, hailey ave all have views of the skyline and are off the river. Sales there average less than 70 grand. Some of the views are more appeasing at night than day with all the lights coming from the downtown buildings. If you guys get a chance to cross the MLK bridge from metro center/HBV into Bordeaux, you'll notice that it's a up hill drive. If I had the funds, I would buy up every house on cocoa drive for that view. That culdesac is going to be worth so much. Its worth a quick drive to check it out for yourself. Bordeaux would be a great investment for a developer who likes to build homes with double level porches and rooftop decks.

What's "combative" about my statement? After reading the individual named "grilled cheese" post and mines, you conclude that Im "combative?" If providing a detailed response to a response Is combative, then Ive been mis communicating all my life sir. I sincerely was confused, when two posters were advising that they never saw any homes in Bordeaux for sale, when every real estate source available list the Bordeaux homes for sale. The only post that I could reasonably see as "combative" was that of the member named "grilled cheese." I was referred to as "this person." I referred to him as sir. As for the view, I truely believe that the view is well known in the city, and is also easily seen on google maps.

There are "several" houses for sale in Bordeaux. MLS, zillow, trulia etc all have these "several" homes listed. Also, in regards to posting a personal photo of Bordeaux's riverfront and downtown views.......why? It's very well known that Bordeaux has a "huge" riverfront with amazing views of downtown. Get on google maps and virtually drive through Bordeaux, if actually driving over here is not a option for you. At one point, I sincerely refused to respond to either question that I just answered. Most of these homes have been on the market for awhile. In fact, I've never seen the area "not" have a home listed. Furthermore, I'm shocked that "the view" of downtown that Bordeaux has, is actually unknown by anyone in the city. So if MLS, trulia and zillow don't show you the homes that have been on the market for awhile AND if google maps doesn't show you the riverfront and downtown views.....I can't help sir(s).

I just woke up to a riverfront view of the skyline, and I'm less than 6 miles from the schermerhorn symphony center. I paid less than 150k for my house. But......I guess because it's Bordeaux/North, people are still acting like there isn't affordable city living available.....

I see it the other way. I believe in the good ole saying of "if you build it they will come." If our stadium looked anything like the auto zone park in Memphis, our attendance would go through the roof. There are so many who go to sporting events for the "experience" and not just the game itself. Theres no "experience" factor with this stadium. Better love some baseball, because it looks more bland than some college stadiums. You would think that going to a sounds game, would seem like a huge step up from a Vanderbilt game. Won't be the case with this stadium.

I agree with the feelings on the stadium being bland. When you compare it to the above listed stadiums, it doesn't come close. Why did they not include some brick....... Solid article, besides the part about diversity. This city has a long ways to go, before it can be considered diverse. The moment this city becomes diverse, we will truly see a rush of new comers moving here. Atlanta would actually become intimidated, if/when Nashville becomes diverse.

Sad news for a 12 south business. Hopefully Katy K can resume business in North Nashville/Bordeaux. Shop will be closer to downtown w/view, and wont have to worry about extreme rental rates forcing out true urban businesses like themselves.

There is no crisis, as long as North Nashville remains significantly untouched by development. See my gentrification thread below. Not sure why we keep acting as if North Nashville has been all bought up. When people refer to "old Nashville," their talking about those who refuse to attempt any redevelopment in North, and label it as unfixable. You could not live in any other major city, and have places like Bordeaux with those riverfront views, remain significantly untouched. It's borderline frustrating to continue to see people ask where to live in the city, and North Nashville is staring right at them screaming "LOOK AT ME."

There has been no such shooting in Bordeaux. Likewise, the shooting on 15th ave n was not in Elizabeth park. When I still see hints of "scary north Nashville" thrown around, I always think "those same things were said about East Nashville, Germantown and the Nations"......so many are still attempting to sell a picture of "scary unfixable neighborhoods where the boogey man lives...." However, the Nations are now thriving, and East Nashville just got national recognition as a hip neighborhood. The "scary part of town" gossip isn't going to work anymore here. Outsiders are moving here, and the city is becoming more diverse and opened minded. These "scary" neighborhoods with their close proximitys to broadway and skyline views, won't be ignored by the new progressive movement here in Nashville. We cant sincerely want us to be a "it" city and think that these "city" areas should be left untouched. That's so "old Nashville."

Construction has started on Waffle House near Sonics off the river in Bordeaux. Perhaps the best view of Downtown while eating hashbrowns?

There are *several* historic houses in the area. I've always wondered why a historic overlay hasnt been given to the core area's of North Nashville.
