  1. I live in 5&M as well (and probably have met UA...whoever you are. :-) ). Can we do anything about the reported lack of retail in the new construction next door? I feel that would be a huge boon to the neighborhood and prevent any poor saps from having to live on the ground level in such an area.
  2. Will be brutal for sure. I'm at least glad that Mr. B will have a place to vent his nonsense and receive a proper response instead of spewing falsities to the media and anyone else who will listen. Hopefully someone else in the group will push back just as hard.
  3. Speaking of Gulch Crossing... I took this from my office yesterday while they were assembling crane #2:
  4. Thanks for the clarification. Not good for the AMP, of course, but maybe once people see the actual performance of the thing when it's stuck in traffic they will agree to a future revision of that stretch in the coming years.
  5. I have very little experience driving west of 440 at rush hour simply because I don't have much need to go to that part of town. Can someone with experience in this area comment on how jammed up it gets during peak times? When I have driven it, there seemed to be very little congestion between 440 & St. Thomas, but that could very likely just be coincidence.
  6. I also don't think it's lost on anyone that the section directly in front of Beaman's car lot downtown is conveniently without a dedicated lane... If direct, obvious pandering to this guy doesn't warm him up a bit then I don't know what will.
  7. I can understand keeping the HQ, but what motivates your allegiance to the warehouse? I think that portion is pretty unattractive, myself. (I work in Cummins Station and have to look at the top of it regularly, so that may color my opinion.) Surely it's very structurally sound if they can park a fleet of vehicles on top of it... Maybe they can add to the structure and build up? In that vicinity, any single-story structure's days are numbered, IMO.
  8. Seems like a seriously odd place to put two single-family homes, though... I can't imagine the surrounding parcels going anywhere but up!
  9. Not good. I don't understand why the two parties can't come to the table and decide together on a functional solution rather than just trying to scuttle each others' plans... So frustrating.
  10. Pure marketing, I'm sure. If I was the developer, I'd prefer to stay as far away as possible from spending millions of dollars on a project that could easily be referred to as "The Dud." If nothing else, Dallas just sounds sexier--history be damned. (First post, btw. Maybe someday I'll contribute something meaningful.)
